I really do hope it's good news, however, there must be so many hoax calls it must be difficult to know what's real and what isnt.

How awful for them. News like this must make their hearts jump, and it could turn out to be nothing. I so hope it doesn't and that the whole country weeps with joy when she is found.

Just read this on Gerry McCann's blog on the findmadeleine website:-
"We had to delay our onward flight to Amsterdam because of some information received by the police, which we needed to be consulted on. We diverted to the embassy in Berlin but it turned out to be nothing of interest. "

I's so terrible it seems that they may never find her, what agony that would be for the rest of your life, not knowing, just as it must be for Ben Needams mother, or poor keith Bennetts family (unfound Moors Murder victim) you would never be able to stop looking. Madeleines story was on the news in Australia they also reminded people of a 18month little girl taken from her bedroom and still missing over there.

I agree Ruth. The now knowing must be agony. At least I know where Christopher is and as hard as that is it must be a thousand times worse not knowing for sure. I really pray that they get closure on this one way or the other......

I have to be honest, it doesn't look good and I have a horrible feeling they are going to find her there as it seems to be some sort of serial kidnapper of children.

i hope that something comes of this but i can't help thinking about how calm the mother is considering she's had a child abducted i've never seen her distraught, i know people handle things differently but i can't help thinking that

It's amazing how calm you can appear on the outside when you are completely torn apart and screaming inside.

Totally agree Sarah.
Poor woman is probably in bits inside. She has to put on a front, if not for her children but for her own sanity.

I've sometimes thought the same, but then I also think back to when DS2 was 7 months old and I was sat in the resuscitation room at A&E with him, being told that he had septicaemic meningitis and they had to get a line in him etc, and just sitting there, going into robot mode and thinking, best give DH a ring later and let him know. I had no emotion, no tears, no anguish, nothing. Not until he was discharged from the wards 2 weeks later. Everyone said to me, how on earth can you stay so calm, but its just the way I dealt with it.
If Maddy's mum is still holding out that hope that she will be found alive, maybe its the same for her.
I don't honestly know how I would react in that situation tbh.

I've thought the same and feel that if it was a child of mine I wouldn't be able to speak to anyone let alone give interviews but I also think how can I judge never having been in such a terrible situation, they do come over as being rather unemotional about it and that appears odd to most people but perhaps it is as if it isn't real, it really hasn't sunk in yet because it must be almost impossible for them to beleive, maybe she just is numb and feels absolutly nothing at all. I do find it odd though how they can leave their twins and go off you would think that you wouldn't be able to let your other chidren out of your sight.

I definitely agree with that bit hun - I've always thought how can they go off travelling around Europe when they have the twins to think of aswell - they'd be stuck to me like glue tbh and I'd be scared witless that the same thing might happen to them.
