thats terrible although this happens and i would hope most people have more sense than to get in a car with a stranger even if he says he is a taxi driver. if you havent booked one dont get in, especially if he has not taxi markings etc on the car( i know that this is different in her case as he used the fact that her freind had left to say she needed a taxi)

I know that when i was younger a friend and i shared a taxi. When we dropped her off i sat in the car with my phone ready to call her if i needed to, she knew where i was oing and stuff, BUT would that have helped? who knows? BUT i DO think that more young people should be made aware of the dangers. Its scary. I know that now i would never ever get in a car with someone who claimed to be a taxi driver, but i did when i was younger, especially in london when they came up to me/us offering us a cheaper route home after a long night out. stupid when you think about it, but thats just it, it never ever crossed my mind. Now i am really careful. In london the best thing to do is use a black cab, but always be careful!!!!!!!

i think when you are younger and when you've been out for the night you just do things thenn looking back when you get older it shocks you that you could have been so stupid

i feel for her but at the same time why would you get in a car with a guy who says he's a taxi driver, why not be safe and just call a cab or wait for the bus
