Thats lovely. The hospital do have a web page about how to fundraise for the hospital, or you could call them and ask their advice about how to do it for the dept your interested in.

Good luck.

Sorry forgot the link! //http://www.imagineappeal.com/involved/

Thanks for that,

Id rather do our own fundraising though iykwim and then donate the money to them from our own fund rather than raise money through their fund - only because that way we could choose diff charities to donate to aswell if we wanted to - does that make sense?!

Its all still very new, not thought too indepth about it yet but will be doing when I get back from my hols

I think it's a great idea and you know I will do all I can to help.

I think Erica is looking for advice on how to set up funds as well, the legitimate side of it with regard to monies coming in etc. and her then being able to make donations from that fund to other charities.

awww thanks everyone, I just want to start doing something instead of just sitting here - it feels like theres not much we can do when told our baby has heart probs except sit and wait for it to get worse so they will then make it better, so I thought this would help make us feel like we were doing something iykwim

What a fantastic and thoughtful thing to do hun! We try and donate through the business to Meningitis Research after what we went through with Ci although we don't manage to as often as we'd like to.

What about little things like table top sales, coffee mornings, toddler walks etc. I'll see if I can think of any more

do they collect anything..?
milk bottle tops is a favourite, but for the life of me i don't know what they do with them  or how they raise money etc.

i know Sarah's friend collected them for a prem charity, now my mate collects them for hospicare

I'm here hun. I'll do all I can to help. To give you some ideas of how to fund raise. We have stalls this year at the two local carnivals - the shopping mall, local church coffee morning (you could organise a coffee morning yourself), in Asda foyer plus others. In past years we've also had stalls at the two big local steam fairs.
We have a tombola stall which is £1 a go (one ticket) but they get a prize every time so no one goes home empty handed and you have far less stuff to pack away at the end (hopefully).
Start asking around for good quality stuff that people don't want and if you have a local Asda they are really supportive to local funds.
Not sure what else I can think of for now.
As for a name - 'have a heart' or 'from the heart' or 'Tiny hearts' - sorry the best I can do for now!
You need to get the local press on your side too. I've got your pm. Will reply soon - just trying to get my post packed and sent!
Sarah x

Will you be looking for website sponsors Erica? I have a few clients who might be interested and could put feelers out if you have thought about raising funds that way?

Have you setup a paypal address for donations?
