well I tried flour on metanium

and it appears to be working, I also heard cornflour works. It is still a bit red but has most def cleared up.

Glad it seems to be working! the trick is thick metanium and plain flour!!

i have no idea WHY it works, it just does! It forms a crust over the metanium and the yeast helps or something..
i was so desperate to sort out ferns bottom that i would have tried almost anything! So i tried this, (suggested by both marcs mum and my mum at different times) it worked and so i shared the knowledge!!

Where do you get the metanium bit from (for future reference - DS's bottom is nice and clear so far, but now I've said that, its bound to flare up again)

I found metanium in loads of places, chemists, supermarkets. Once you've found it you'll never forget it! Fantastic stuff!

Yep over counter in a yellow coloured box and i think the wording is in purple.

sorry not downstairs to check, its in the baby section (as i call it) near the sudo crem

A friend recommended egg white on the bum!! Works surprisingly well but quite messy!

The best cream i found was a recomendation. Its called vasogen cream. You only need a thin layer as its really good stuff but i found at our boots they dont have it out, they keep it in a draw behind the pharmasist bit. But believe me, this stuff is fab!!!

I found some of that Meta-wotsamacallit in Asda last night. DS's bottom has been pretty clear of late, but now I've found my source if needed :D
