The most annoying number one ever?

The Crazy Frog ringtone has leapt straight to number one in the charts, dashing Coldplay's hopes for the top spot.

The reworking of Axel F, Harold Faltermeyer's theme to the Beverly Hills Cop films, is the first mobile ringtone to cross over into the charts.

HMV spokesman Gennaro Castaldo said the super-annoying tune's success was down to "its huge novelty appeal and the massive amount of exposure it is getting".

He said: "Kids obviously find it cute and cool but students and office workers seem to be drawn to its rather kitsch, ironic appeal."

Coldplay had hoped to go straight in at number one with their new single Speed of Sound, but the Brit rockers have had to settle for second place

i cant believe this is number 1 i so prefer coldplay :angry-smiley-005: to crazy frog

I agree Coldplay are deserved winners of the top spot but yet again a stupid novelty crappy song has took its place!

The same applies to every time this has happened in the past with the likes of... Mr. Blobby, Bob the Builder, Teletubbies the tweenies and the like... also in my opinon the likes of Eamon and Frankee should be put here too.. annoying ridiculous songs :angry-smiley-005: :@ Eamon - dont want you back ended up being number one when ruben was born and I HATE that song!! :angry-smiley-005:

I don't like the crazy frog full stop but in my case it is the lesserof the 2 evils and I don't like Coldplay either (my description music for the sucidal lemming :P )

but then just think it could have been Elvis yet again (a marketing ploy if ever I saw one)

At first it got me tapping my toes but now it has me ripping my hair out. Why do these ring tones have to be advertised three or four times in a commercial break aswell??????

This is a bit of info for you - My father in law has got the frog ringtone on his phone ARGGGGHHHH!!!! :ac39: :ac39:

sorry but i still love it..... dp has it on his phone too and i think that is great aswell, yes i do believe that coldplay deserved to be number one, and they should've just kept it as a ring tone, think they have gone a bit overboard making it into a full song, but it still makes me smile when it comes on the telly!
