The most annoying number one ever?
The Crazy Frog ringtone has leapt straight to number one in the charts, dashing Coldplay's hopes for the top spot.
The reworking of Axel F, Harold Faltermeyer's theme to the Beverly Hills Cop films, is the first mobile ringtone to cross over into the charts.
HMV spokesman Gennaro Castaldo said the super-annoying tune's success was down to "its huge novelty appeal and the massive amount of exposure it is getting".
He said: "Kids obviously find it cute and cool but students and office workers seem to be drawn to its rather kitsch, ironic appeal."
Coldplay had hoped to go straight in at number one with their new single Speed of Sound, but the Brit rockers have had to settle for second place
i cant believe this is number 1 i so prefer coldplay :angry-smiley-005: to crazy frog
