If you, as a business, had a problem with a service that you'd been provided, and the response from the service provider was insufficient/unacceptable, would it be appropriate to take it up with Trading Standards? I would as a consumer, but not sure as a business...

I believe you can, I have rung TS as a business about another business in the past.
Are you a member of the FSB? Could you ask their legal advice line what you can and can't do - I have used this many times to resolve issues with service providers.

I would as a business aswell - them or the office of fair trading, depending on what the problem is. I've had dealings with OFT in the past and they've always been very helpful on the phone etc.

Yes I would contact Trading Standards because even if you are a business, you are still paying for a service.
Hope it gets sorted soon!
