Well at first i thought if it were me i would just be thankful that i wasnt dying but then i read on about him maybe losing his home so i do think he should be compensated for at least that

Maybe he should have spent some of that money getting a second opinion?

i say he has a bloody cheek!! he has his life, ok he may not be able to afford his house but nobody told him to risk his home did they?? it's one thing enjoying life if you don't think you be here that long but it's another thing entirely to get into debt doing it! and nobody mentions how long he had to live..........i think he's having a laugh saying that he doesn't want the nhs to pay for solicitors, too right, they shouldn't be paying him compensation either!!! he should be over the moon that he's not dying!!!

He shouldnt have had to get a 2nd opinion, you trust the word of the doctor.

Tough one, but I do think he should be compensated if he was told he had cancer and he was going to die imminently and so spent his money while he could.

Honestly, think he has a cheek! He should be blooming grateful he's alive - it was HIS choice to spend all his money. A diagnosis is always open to changing, if he really feels there was negligence that could affect his quality of life then he should think about taking it further, but he is alive, the spending was his doing, I really don't think any court should compensate him for that!

I have to agree that he has a cheek - my auntie was given 2 - 8 weeks to live, she died 3 weeks later. She didn't go out and spend money like it was going out of fashion or get herself into debt. He should be grateful that the hospital made a "mistake" and that he at least has his life.

To me, regardless of if he was on borrowed time he really should not have spent what he didn't have!

I couldn't believe it1
It made me think back 2 when I was going thro it, & all the emotional distress it can cause some ppl, well I'm not surprised he's suing...he should get loads 4 it!

I think he should get compensation, for the truma he must have suffered and because he now is in dire straight financially, Ok he is lucky he is not ill but that doesn't alter the fact that he has suffered through misdiagognosis (sp)
