Ok, I'd really like to try using real nappies this time round.

Can someone please give me advice on what style would be the easiest to use for someone who has never even touched a real nappy

I obviously don't want to spend out loads if I'm not going to get on with them.... I know it'll be a complete change to disposables but can someone please give a step by step on what the changing process would be, what bits I'd need etc.

Ds had really sensitive skin when he was born (has eczema now) and would often get bad nappy rash, despite me doing everything I could to stop him getting it, would real nappies be better from this point of view if Sprout is just as sensitive?

Thanks in advance :happy72:

yw!!

For whats its worth i never ever ever thought that
1) i would be using cloth nappies
2) i would actually be recommending others to them!!!!!!!!!!!

Its so much easier than i ever thought! just take them off her, stick them in the washing machine!!! ITs fab!!!!

have a look at www.babykind.co.uk and that will tell you if your local authority will give you cash back which is a start!

I would recomend a nappy trial kit, I'm sure Sarah could help.

I love fuzzi bunz and pocket nappies in general they are so easy and easy for other peeps to use.

I use Fuzzi's from Sarah on Liam, Sluff. So much easier - can't really go wrong. Liam is a heavy wetter so we also use the boosters with them during the day, his skin is subject to major flareups and since we've been using the Fuzzi's his skin has been really clear, even when cutting his molars. I've got into a fab routine of washing once he's in bed, and then drying overnight ready for the next day too. I'm going to be using them for Bean aswell when he arrives, and would highly recommend them (espesh from Sarah :D)

I havent started using them obvoiusly but i am so in love with snugglebees organic velour at the minute!

I have bought a couple of a few types of nappies so i can see what works for us. Even if they dont work for us then they sell well so im not too worried about wasting money!

I would recommend Nappy lady and baby kind though - loads of info on there.

Well am looking as we speak and I quite like the look of Minkis and Fuzzi Bunz... do you think velcro or poppers are best for newborns? I love the patterns like the colourful jigsaw and the zoo print sound lovely!

If Ethan's weight is anything to go by, Sprout will prob be around the 8lb weight..

Sorry if I'm sounding dim here but when they do need changing, what do you do with the insert? I guess if it's just wet then it goes straight in the washing machine? What about if it's dirty, do you have to be rinsing out poo? Can you get flushable liners? ..... I'm sorry I told you I was a 'virgin'.

Going to keep looking now so may be able to answer some of my own questions along the way.. :cheesy:
