Hi,
Do any of you have or had experience of having an E bay Shop?
I was thinking of opening the £6 a month one but ive never really used ebay so i wasnt sure if it was hard to list everything on there, if you make any money from all the Fee's that you have to pay and that there are already loads of shops on there do you even get notised only having the £6 shop?
Thanks

Amazon doesn't cost unless the item sells, the only problem is that you can't add your link whereas on ebay you can sneak it on ;-)

I would suggest the first thing to do, would be to search for the items you are thinking of selling. Ebay is very very competative especially in the children's toy and clothing market. Have a look and see what things are selling for and you can work out your costs and whether it would be worth it.

Lemons right, i did a search for something i stock and found someone selling it LESS than i bought it for direct from the supplier! do your homework and search for all the things you stock to see who else is selling and at what price.....make sure you take into consideration that although the listing is cheaper for a shop is only £6 what the final value fee would be? see if its going to be beneficial to you?

www.goofbay.com has a thing to calculate the ebay fees. www.ppcalc.com does the Paypal fees.

But if you get caught you will have listings removed or a phone call from them as I did! You are not allowed a link to an outside website anywhere on ebay.
I have an ebay shop and I really like it. It does help to keep everything in order. Items listed in your shop inventory are not submitted on the main ebay listings so you still need lots of 'ordinary' ebay listings with a link to your shop which means you have to pay the normal ebay fees too.
I think it's expensive but it's a necessary evil to be honest. I put a flyer in all my ebay parcels advertising my website and people do come back and buy from my website rather than ebay next time.

Thanks for all your info - i didnt realise that the adds dont go into normal listings - so you have to list seperatly as well - so that makes it even more expensive! also a lot of work as ive never listed anything on ebay so it will prob take me ages!!
I still dont know wether to do it - i think i will need to speak to my partner about it more as he's listed stuff before
Thanks

I watermark images with www.chelltune.co.uk or Chelltune.co.uk so its not an actual link.

You can add a link to your website if you set up a ME page. You can add some photos and add link to your favourite website which will be your own, of course. You can set up a ME page whether you have a shop or not, and when you list you can mention in your blurb that you have a ME page where people can find more info about you. This all above board and perfectly within the rules.
Hope this helps.

Both of those are against the rules too Chell. Someone selling something on eBay that I also stock was foolish enough to do both of those on eBay and had her listings removed.

I thought it might be but they don't seem to notice. I had another ebayer pinch my photo, it had my url across it
