How much does your DH/OH get involved in your business?

mine is driving me MAD...he keeps asking what i have done and what i am doing next! i dont even know myself and he keeps saying "you've got to get going and get it all sorted!" Hes very excited about it but he keeps asking what he can do to help! Ive suggested he stays out of the way but he said he wants to do something practical to help!

so what can i get him to do?

Mine doesn't get involved even when I ask his opinion! What is he good at?

he could be a leaflet distributer for you?!

I ask for Will's input quite a lot but I dont often follow what he says but it nice to bounce ideas off someone.

my oh gets involved a bit, but he's always looking on the cynical side....just makes me more determined to prove him wrong. The other day I said I always wanted to work for myself, but he's worse than any boss(not that he's the boss) I've ever had....still find myself asking for his opinon though."Doh"

If / when you get some supplier catalogues you could get him to pick his favourite things?

depends - he's been throughe enthusiastic phases, downright discouraging phases (when i'm so busy working I neglect him and the house LOL) and this week he's going to be roped into packing books, which I don;t imagine he will be very thrilled at, but he's a pefectly competant envelope stuffer and I'm not going to sit and do it by myself if he's just wantching tv LOL!

Well since we bought the second business in February DP has given up her job to work in both the businesses. No way could I manage without her full time help now. When she worked part time she used to do stuff for Anara for me in the afternoons.

This week she'll be working on finalising the operations systems for when we take on staff and premises later in the year plus millions of other little jobs. In the next two weeks there is going to be a lot of new stock for her to unpack and sort as well. I've started this morning by placing huge orders with 3 new suppliers and 1 current one

DP helps promote our business as he goes on loads of car forums... he also organises group buys for people on the forums :) When I was in hospital having dd I talked him through how to check for orders and what to do if there was one!

I must say my DH is a godsend! He helps when I need the extra hands, lets me bounce ideas off him, lets me vent my frustrations and a million other things. Sometimes he can be a pain in the neck as he will get all these ideas, which are great - but we haven't the time to put them into place - so it drives me mad.

But other than that he's very supportive and I don't think I'd be where I am today without the support that he's given to me.

It is the other way round in our house as it is dh business and I look after the admin/calls/customer side.

When he walks in on a night he always asks what has happend with the business today before he asks if I have had a good day lol.

He spends far more time than me on the business and thinks it is funny to tell me that I am sleeping with the boss.

lol kerrimouse, I tell dh that!

Seriously, though, dh is brilliant. He's done all the IT stuff, and is currently making a new website for Chiggs, he puts so much time into the business, despite working full time, doing shifts in a stressful job!
He's wonderful, and I've just realised I don't tell him that enough.

Pfc, it's great that your OH is so enthusiastic!

Mine works in IT and his eyes glaze over with boredom when I start talking about beads and jewellery. Mind you, I do the same when he starts talking about his job! However, he is very supportive and I know if I needed help, he would help me. He tends to help me by looking after DD when I have huge orders etc.

 same here, DP does all the technical side of things.

My DP is computer illiterate, so not much help there, but he is supportive in other ways - he works shifts so if he's at home he'll have the kids so I can go and do demos, he is always there to ask for opinions or bounce ideas off (except i don't always take his advice!), he even talks to his work mates about the benefits of real nappies lol!

And he puts up with my long nights on the puter - I guess I should be more appreciative!

Erm my DP has a massive role in the business - it is called "how stressed can I get Nadine today by asking stupid questions and generally being annoying"!!!

I think I'll answer this on another day!

My DH created the website for me...which obviously I really appreciate, but it did lead to a lot of arguments. Him insisting that one thing looks better, while I knew that something else did! It took ages to get it how I wanted it. LOL

Now he spends a lot of time looking to see where I should advertise, and I spend a lot of my time pointing out that I have already contacted the sites or whatever that he is suggesting, so he is wasting both of our time.

Never mind. I couldn't do it without him.
