A website based on cooking with your kiddies?

so this would include recipies, ideas for meals, supplies for cooking, cake decorations etc etc????

Am thinking that i could sell on there all the cooking supplies, recipie books, even get some recipie cards printed up with my own recipies on, protective stuff the the kitchen for those messy meals, cutlery, kids plates/dishes etc...

very very early thought stages but just an idea! what do you think?

love it, i think that sites that initially are info and full of free stuff are great incentives for people to shop with. If you get your brand and personality across and people buy into it the sales should be easy!

go buy it! It will only cost a few quid and you can always change your mind but it's a super domain name really catchy so I'd be quick ;) I love the idea of that site, it would be hard work building up the information but once it's all put together would be brilliant.

Domain names are so very cheap - I buy from either:
www.1and1.co.uk (v good value)
www.freeparking.co.uk (top customer service but slightly more pricy)

From 1&1 a .co.uk is £4.68 inc VAT and a .com is £10.80

HTH :)

I get mine at 1&1 too and use their hosting, have found them to be really good *touch wood*.

oooops I forgot to say - its a fantastic idea, its something I actually considered a while back but I just can't do stock and sending out parcels LOL!

GO for it!

I was going to have the take on healthy cooking with kids so reducing sugar and artificial crap and involving the children in something that is such a valuable life skill.

just browsing on 123-reg.co.uk and it says i can have pinkfairycake.co.uk for 2 years at £2.59 a year????? is that right????? or am i on some dodgy 'off the back of a van' site?

Additional info: just done a full domain check and every possible instance of pinkfairycake is available, so .co.uk .com .net with and without dashes you name it - its there :)

So fab chance there for you!

123reg are a big company. I don't personally use them these days as I have found their customer services to be severely lacking from previous experiences of them.

and £2.57 per year (you have to register for 2 years min) is more than 1&1 as they are 4.68 for 2 years inclusive.

thanks hun! i was thinking along the same lines - on a sort of 'healthy eating can still be fun' type basis...

go for a .com if you can, or both, it is a good name, excellent I Idea by the way, when I was small(many many moons ago) I had a book that was about the basics of cooking, pancakes, crispy cakes etc, I have had a look for my kids and there is still nothing that is up to the same standard(I still have it) also with all the diets etc now kids are on it would be good to research(and test) all the modern aspects of Kiddy Cookin(woo an nice domain name too) lol.

I'd get the .com and the .co.uk definately and maybe the .net but I really don't think they do much it would be just to stop someone trying to steal your thunder really.

Definately go for the .com and .co.uk - .net is getting better known but I'd not have said it was essential.

I brought posh daisy from there, its fine. buy the .com one too because if you don't someone else will sooner or later.

Brilliant idea by the way and you have the personality to carry it off beautifully.

I checked here http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/ for you and there are good searches for what you have in mind so you know that it is something people want.

If you go to that link and type in kids cooking you will see what people are searching for.

I think its a great idea.

I have a book on childrens healthy recipes and making food fun and its fab! I think alot of people would be interested in this.

I love using the shape cutters when i make food for Joshua and with flap jack and things (healthy ones of course!) and he loves it. Its so much more fun for them.

You could sell childrens aprons for them too and maybe adult and childrens set aprons, like big cook little cook ones! and mini childrens cooking utensils, like the little rolling pins etc.
When I owned rewardboard the healthy eating reward chart was really popular, maybe you could sell those too :D

I have loads of ideas for it - sorry for taking over! Can you tell i think its a fab idea :hysterica :cheesy:

definitely a great idea, I'm just a little bit bothered that the name is a bit gender-specific? I mean it shouldn't be, but... wondering if there was a blue or neutral equivalent that you could direct to the same content. Just a thought :)

Love the 'cooking with your child' theme. I have great plans of my daughter cooking 3 course meals for me when she's 16 -so she'll have to start early!

There are some great ideas for your site on this thread, too
