My eldest DD is 9 now and we are redecorating her room. She would love some sort of theme but I cant find that many around suitable for her age (other than Groovy Chick). Can anyone else suggest any shops that do a nice range for a child of this age. Thanks very much.

Hi Raven

Does she like the Disney Princess theme or is she too old for that?! B&Q do a range of paints, borders, curtains and bedding as well as door handles etc. Next also do a lovely range of girlie bedroom stuff. Also, Rosbies (A49 next to mothercare) do nice duvet covers and accessories

Take care

I'd also suggest Next and Rosebies. Another good place for really girlie girlie themes is Laura Ashley, it depends if she wants flowery, fairie kind of themes or something a bit more funky. Another great place for kids bedroom stuff is the Vertbaudet cataloge, they actually do a separate one full of kids bedroom fabrics and furniture called the home collection. Take a look at

We recently decorated our girls bedroom and we used Homebase paints in Lilac and a really vibrant bubblegum pink (just on the 1 wall). It looks great and they love it. We also added a wall light from Ikea in the shape of a red heart :D

Anyway hope you get some good inspiration

Bec was like that for weeks so in the end we told her we were getting the paint on such n such a day n whatever she had said last as a color was the one she would have-worked as she made up her mind.
