Has anyone seen this film ? I taped it last week and me and dh have just sat down to watch it ... I am horrified ! We have turned it off and neither of us can watch it. It made me feel sick and there is something extremely weird and dark about it.

Mel isn't in it he just produced and directed it.
I've got it on DVD and watched half then watched more when it was on over Easter. They say it's shocking and gory but sadly it's true and it's the way it happened - I've not watched it all the way though - I found it upsetting too :(

I've seen it I don't recall that I found it horrific, hard to watch but very true (well if you beleive) and very moving.

Actually it's true even if you don't believe. There is written historical proof that it actually happened - it's just whether people believe that he is who he claimed to be.

Is there? I didn't think that anyone had actually found historical proof.

Oh gosh yes there's loads apparently. It was all written about by the reporters and scribes that were around at the time, they followed him a bit like our press follow celebrities now and recorded all the things he was doing and teaching and the miracles her performed. All the letters written by the apostles make up a huge part of the new testiment. I don't think there's any doubt that Jesus lived and died the way that he did, it's just that people don't always believe that he was who he claimed to be.
I looked into it all a few years ago and there's no doubt in my mind that the story of Jesus is true and I also believe that he is who he claimed to be, the evidence is too strong for it not to be true.

I beleive as well Sarah, but I didn't think that any actual evidence had been found to collaberate the stories in the bible I know there is evidence of certain things like cities, happenings etc but is there anything that actually states there was a man called Jesus who was crucified and claimed to be the Messiah? I usually watch programmes where people are trying to match things in the Bible to historical evidence and usually they can't seem to match things up, which is always disappointing not that it alters what you beleive but I would like to be able to say to ds and dh see there is some proof. Did you ever see the programme where they think they traced the Covenant and the commandments but when they actually found the place they thought it was they were refused permission to dig!!!! Think it was somewhere like Turkey or Syria?

See you learn something new every day ;)
Jen I didn't see that. The best thing I ever went on was an Alpha course, it explains things in very simple and easy to understand terms - just the way I like it :D

We borrowed a the film from a friend and we only watched about 10 mins. It's a horrible, also creepy yet a boring film and I cannot understand why Mel Gibson would want to make such tripe? I think he may be going though some sort of mid life crisis...lol
Roll on Shrek 3, I like happy films..yer!

Well the critics don't agree, it's a highly successful film and from what I saw it's excellent.
