I got my notification for my SA, but I also have to file the PAYE for both my companies and Corporation Tax returns for both companies as well. I tried to do the PAYE the other day online, but it rejected my password so I've had to request a new one (again).

Hi
I got mine yesterday. I have an accountant and it makes it so much easier. She also thinks of things to include that I never think of eg electricity, computer paper etc.
It costs me £150 but is well worth the expense for peace of mind and occasionally a little tax rebate!

I'm using an accountant too, I will be handing over ALL my accounts and bookkeeping soon I hope I can't cope with it any more :( I will have two lovely people doing different parts of it for me.

Had my notification last week and filed it online the same day. :D So quick and easy, it only took 5 minutes to do and that was for one lot of employment and 3 sets of self employment records.
Won't be handing over the book keeping to anyone until I get someone in house that can do it each day and is capable of doing the accounts too. Must keep close tabs on the cashflow and I like things done each day.

Does the earlier you put it in mean the earlier you will have to pay your tax?

No, it just means you know further in advance what your payments will be so you can budget better. My mum has always made her inhouse accountant (ltd company) do this for the last 30 years in their business so I just picked up the habit when I was 18 and had to file my first return.
The other reason I do it is because I paid so much tax through PAYE last year it has meant I got a repayment this year and it was in my account on the 4th day after filing my return online. No repayment for me next year though as I am no longer employed.

I have not received mine yet, I instructed an accountant a few months ago so would it have gone straight to him . I'm sure mine wouldn't be too hard to fill in this year but I wanted to make sure I claim for everything because I know when I've done it myself I've missed things
