dh was washing the car today with the hose,.
nothing wrong oin that, but i noticed the overflow pipe outside (on the gutter) was peeing out water :unsure: i checked that nothnig was overflowing (baths/sinks etc)...no
when i turned the tap off, it stopped.
but then about an hour later i went to wash up...................no hot water!

why, what, when how?
any ideas

No idea what, but when our overflow did that DP had to do something in the loft.

Did you sort it out? We had that and it turned out to be the over flow/expansion tank from the hotwater (I think). We ended up with a new one anyway.

ours is only about 2 years old, its a new house grrrrrrrrr

We had something like that happen with ours it something to do with the water pressure of the hose affecting something but Im not sure what, sorry not very helpful I know. Hope you get it sorted.

it hasn't happened since he was washing the car.
what do you think? leave it for now or do something about it?
we use the hose to water the grass seeds in the garden daily if its not rained and it hasn't happened before
(and...........we now have a thin layer of grass appearing, and birds are nesting in our box, but thats a diferent story)

Did he turn the hose off at any point whilst the water was still on, if that makes sense! By that I mean turn it off at the end of the hose not the tap. Thats when we find the problem occurred and our house was relatively new as well when it happened - we just dont turn the hose itself off now.

hmmmm om not sure, he could of done, ds was ''helping'' him so he could of done it..dh has gone to work now so i can't ask him.
what do you reckon? do we need to do anything now?
