Am reading this book at the moment and it is great!!! £3.73 in Tesco.
Half way through already and only started it yesterday! One of those books that you just want to keep on reading..........
"A major decision about me is being made, and no one's bothered to ask the one person who most deserves it to speak her opinion." The only reason Anna was born was to donate her cord blood cells to her older sister. And though Anna is not sick, she might as well be. By age thirteen, she has undergone countless surgeries, transfusions, and shots so that her sister, Kate, can somehow fight the leukemia that has plagued her since she was a child. Anna was born for this purpose, her parents tell her, which is why they love her even more. But now that she has reached an age of physical awareness, she can't help but long for control over her own body and respite from the constant flow of her own blood seeping into her sister's veins. And so she makes a decision that for most would be too difficult to bear, at any time and at any age. She decides to sue her parents for the rights to her own body.

I bought this book last week (I spotted this recommendation and kept an eye out for it) I couldn't put it down, what an amazing book - it covers an incredibly difficult topic from many different angles and, I think, did an amazing job. Cried at the end, heartbreaking.
Blueberry, I can send you my copy when I get it back from my mum if you want.

I read a really disturbing series of 3 books about a boy who was abused by his mother and dad even had acid in his bath and wasnt fed made to eat his own vomit and urine, it was awful but finished the book, makes you feel how lucky you are, something about a boy, or that may have been the title
I read My Sister's Keeper and it was fantastic reading. Really deep and made me cry but I couldn't put it down. Then I read The Pact (same author) - well worth a read if you haven't yet. Salem Falls was good too but not as good as the other 2. Can you tell I'm collecting her stuff now??!!

is it the Dave pelzer books? A Child Called "IT" - The Lost Boy - A Man Named Dave, brilliant books.
I've just bought Vanishing acts by Jodi Picoult and am going to start reading it tonight. Has anyone else read it?

We read My Sister's Keeper for our Book Club and I really enjoyed it. I found it a very easy read despite the harrowing storyline and I just wonder how I would have felt about it pre-kids. I don't think I would have cried as much. I am not so sure about the ending, it was sad but also felt it was a bit of a cop-out by the author.
Quite fancy reading The Pact as there was a little snippet of that at the end of the book.
I was thinking of getting Vanishing Acts next as I read the snippet in one of the others. Also The Tenth Circle looks good but I'll wait for it to come out in paperback.

I've just finished my sisters keeper and i was crying at the end but like you Trinity i think it was a bit of a cop out but a really good book and makes you wonder what you'd do in that situation.
Going to start vanishing acts today.
Just bought Vanishing Acts today so will start it as soon as I can get 5 minutes to sit down and concentrate...
