View Full Version : I'm new too!
Hi everyone. I'm 28 and live in Norfolk. I work as a teaching assistant in a High School, helping special needs children. I have 2 children, aged 7 & 11, and we have decided to start trying for a third. Would love to hear from those with a large age gap - and your views on whether we are mad to have another with such a big gap!

I have a big age gap between mine, josh is 11 years old and oscar will be 1 next week. I havent got a problem with it esp as josh is a very helpful big brother, and oscar loves him to bits. They get on really well.

Welcome to Mumzone. There is 18mths between my children. We choose such a small gap as there was a large gap between me and my brother, DPs family was the same. Neither of us liked it but maybe our kids will grow up saying that they hated being close in age, LOL.

Hello and welcome :happy72:
I only have one DD and don't plan on having anymore so no idea on age gaps to be honest! But if we did ever decide to have another (having a two year old running me ragged is enough for me, lol!) then there would be a fairly large age gap I think as it's certainly not happening any time soon (or ever, lol!)

Hi...welcome!
My kids are only 21 months apart, but my sister is 5 years older than me, and my brother is 9 years older. As a child it was great. My mum had all this time for me, coz they were both at school, and I had a big brother that would protect me (seriously) and a sister to fight with. Hehehe, it was great, and now I'm 26 my sister is my best friend, and my brother is like the person we look up too. So yeah, from that angle I'd say it works!
