Do you mean like a green house? If so, I would think that plastic would hold up better in the long run.

We got ours from Planet and have to say we are really pleased with it and the service we have been getting from them. Ours is the white UPVC.

Our one, the people before fitted themselves and it seems nice enough. It does have double, double glazed doors leading from the kitchen, then double doors leading out to the garden. I'll take a pic in a while and show you.

Just been out there sunbathing like a cat in the sun!

This is my one when it had just been built. Didnt take that long although they have to leave some time for the foundations to dry out. Its just over 14ft long x 11ft wide and we left the conservatory doors in on ours. TBH Im glad we did as a room would be hard to heat if you have the doors open I think.

looks lovely. i best start saving.

are you using it as a spare room or dining room?

we thought we would use it as a dining room and open up the kitchen in to dining room, but not sure cause that means more money and couldnt afford both at the same time.

so many plans in my head just major lack of money to do them all.

Its a spare room - I have some pics somewhere of what it looks like - we have a corner leather couch in there which looks really nice and we decided not to have blinds at the moment as we like the windows so much on it!

is it not to bright in the summer with no blinds?

what about the roof is it clear?

No we are north facing its lovely in the summer and you can get special roofs if you are south facing. No its not clear I cant remember the name of it now - there are so many different ones available - what I will say is that generally with a conservatory you do get what you pay for. I was told its always best to buy by recommendation as well.

You can get a bronze roof, an opal one aswell or you can get a combination of the two, so if for example, you were having a woodgrain pvc conservatory, you could have bronze outside and inside, or if you were having woodgrain outside, white inside, you could have the same mix for the roof. Of course, you can also just have opal inside and out which will match for a white pvc frame.

(We also fit conservatories when DH isn't putting new glass in coaches and buses when he gets a spare 2 or so weeks to do it in, which isn't very often)
