Has anyone attempted to tile their kitchen? How easy or difficult was it to do ? I want mine retiled but I'm trying to keep the cost down by doing it myself.

Well I have had a go at tiling and tbh I found it quite tricky, particularly if you are doing a large space. Is it the floors or the walls that you want to do?

It's the walls and there isn't that much to do.

Hi
Tiling can be tricky depends on what type of surface you are tiling onto, If you are tiling on top of existing tiles then you need to make sure they are totally clean and grease free, use a good adhesive and always use spacers to ensure a proffesional look. If tiling in a kitchen near a sink or in a bathroom ALWAYS use a waterproof grout, epoxy grout is the best but difficult to work with. If you are tiling straight to a wall or have taken old tiles off just make sure surfaces are smooth and clean. Most DIY stores have leaflets showing the basics. I used to work in a bathroom and tiling supply center and we were taught to tile the displays. I found it really daunting at first but it is a lot easier than it looks, don't scrimp on adhesive uses about 5 dollops about the size of a squashed ping pong ball it is far easier to get the tiles looking even if your walls are not quite flat.
God what a load of waffle, hope this helps.......if you can make any sense of it, lol.
