I'll be brave! I just asked for a quote for some redesigning and have been asked for some more details about what I want so whilst I'm compiling my response...

1. Name of Website and url Littlesheep Learning www.littlesheep-learning.co.uk

2. Type of business, and how long have you been in business for. Retail of educational resources / teaching materials, launched nearly two years ago but I had a baby in the middle so slacked off!

3. What software do you use Oscommerce

4. Did you create the site yourself or use a web designer The fabulous Alison from Daffodil Design did it for me when she we were both starting out and she wasn't busy and had time to chat :cheesy: I 'fiddle' with it myself and am getting better at not breaking it!

I like it, its simple and easy to navigate.

I like your little sheep buy now buttons!

The only thing i'm not sure about is the bold black on the shop list it just seems harsh that black... could just be me!

I really like your site too - think your sheep logo and buttons work really well. I also clicked on your blog and was impressed by that too!

Really lovely site. Easy to use side links/lovely simple logo.

One suggestion! is there a way you can suggest people leave reviews for books they buy?, as all the books I looked at (about 8) said currently no reviews.
Seems a bit pointless having the review link if there are no reviews?
x
p.s whats the 'first thousand words' book like? might get that for dd!

I know what you mean about the reviews - think I need to beg some past customers to review them for me! Will get on the case!

The First Thousand Word Book is fab :D basically it has a 'busy' pictures in the middle of the page and then small pictures in the frame that have the word written next to them or double page spreads of 'category' items. All of the typical objects that toddlers like to label - vehicles / animals / foods are have pages plus colours, shapes and numbers.

Hope this helps - feel free to email me if you need more info!

I can review some of your books for you. Any chance you could review some of my Sing and Sign stuff (I'm sure you said you used S&S).

OH i think we have the first thousand word book, it is busily illustrated, we were bought it as a gift and dd does look at it quite a lot.

The mix of bold and normal text in a paragraph bothers me slightly BUT i can see that you are trying to outline some information and it does that quite well.

I like your site. I wish i had some money.

One other tiny thing! when you click on the 'enlarge image' button to see books in detail, they are the same size? this is one of those things that really bugs me.
Its the same on lots of websites? when I click on the enlarge button I want to see a bit more detail and actually see it a bit bigger!

Anyway, have ordered some books from you tonight, that thousand words book sounds great. Thanks x
Will be able to do a review for you then!:happy72:

I think that the site is great, It instantly has an educational appeal. I can see that it is proffessional and looks like it would appeal to schools too.

the ONLY point that I would have is a personal one, I dont have a child in school yet. Maybe you could have a catergory for babies and toddlers. Rather than having to go into each catergory I could click straight on there.

Fab! :happy72:

I like!! The buttons are great, the site is uncluttered and navigation is easy and obvious.

My only comment is the home page is a little bit "bland" (not quite the right word but not sure what is). Maybe you could have a featured book section on the front page or a book review on the front page - something to make people want to come back time and again.

That is my only comment really.

I like your website - it is easy to navigate and kept simple, not too cluttered.

My suggestions would be - could you have some kind of HOME button in your main menu, lost me for a moment when I navigated to another page then couldn't see a home button but eventually realised it was along the bottom of the site.

I think the fact your P&P is just £1.95 per order (UK delivery) should be highlighted more - in a star, box or something to draw the eye directly to it - it's a great price for P&P!!

Something that I find quite irritating is when there is a click to enlarge button but the enlarged image pops up the same size or fractionally larger than the image already on the site - I like to see clearly what I am buying!

Other than the above I think your site is great! I think Nadines suggestion to jazz up the homepage by having a book review, or featured product of the week would work well!

Looks great. I like how your newsletter sign up is in a prominent spot yet does not distract from you site or look out of place. The font throughout the site seems consistent except for the home page. It may make it appear a bit more professional if there were consistency throughout. I hope this helps

I think your site is great. I like the look of it, simply yet just the right amount of product detail. I love that your logo is through-out. I think the product suggestions (what other customers have bought) is very helpful.

Your on-line free resources are really good too.

If you would be interested in doing something together for reviews on your books or other products, drop me a PM.
