A detectives hunting the attacker of mum Abigail Witchalls have drawn up a list of 32 suspects.

The list of possible attackers was compiled after police received 700 calls from the public.

Two of the names have come up twice.

The 100-man police team is working around the clock trying to track the knifeman.

What I want to know is why he did it. No sexual motive, no theft, WHY???

They seems to be a strong link to drugs from what I have seen, they think it was very possible he was high on them at the time, maybe he just didnt like the way she looked at him when she went past, who knows, but its awful and she is being so brave isnt she.

She cetainly is. Thankgoodness her son is so young and *hopefully* wont remember the trauma too much as he grows older.

Any idea on her recovery yet?

I've heard that teh paralasis coudl be due to swelling so there is still a chance she could make a full recovery. Here's praying for you Abigail.

What would be good enough punnishment is what I want to know, How can he pay for such an evil thing!

I don't know if she ahs kept the baby or not, but I would understand if she hadn't.

I don't know why but this really struck a cord with me - we're the same age and there's a couple of months between our children. I pray that she'll regain the use of her body and that insane attacker is caught soon. I heard on the news that her son was acting out the attack, hopefully he will be able to forget in time.
I hadn't realised she was pregnant until y'day, that just makes the attack worse. It sends chills down your spine to think what some people are capable of.

It is frightening to think what can happen these days isn't it .... some people are evil (or just out of their minds on drugs?)

I was wondering if I had imagined reading she was pregnant when the attack was first in the news, as I haven't heard or seen any mention since ..... Hope to God everything will be ok for her.

OMG, I hadn't heard about this.........how awefull. The thought of that poor child having to witness it all too :( . Lets hope she makes a full recovery, and that her unborn child is ok. As for the attacker, no punishment will be enough!

I couldnt believe it when i heard about it.. the poor family... I do hope that sicko is found cos abigal deserves justice.. but knowing our justice system they will give him a few years in prison and he be out on good behaviour in a few years! Is so bad... sometimes in cases like this i feel the death sentence should be brought back into force!!

The 26-year-old mother has astounded medical staff, who say she is making "significant progress" in her recovery.

Has anyone heard any more on the "suspects"? I read last week that a man who had been questioned and released had been found, after he had taken a suspected overdose.

If he felt he had to run away to commit suicide, he doesn't seem very innocent to me ....

Yes I heard that he died of the overdose and left letters in which he confessed to her attack

:iagree: collette i hope she does go from strenth to strenth but i feel that the suspect has taken the cowards way out and now abigail and her family have lost the justice on him but i wish abgail and her family all the best

Id not heard she was pregnant !!

Last I heard about the guy who killed himself, they were showing Abigail a pic of him, but I didnt hear whether shed recognised him.

Its great news shes recovering some feeling though

She was pregnant but it hasn't been disclosesd about the outcome of it all. I think she may have lost it hence the lack of info.
