i won a 26" wide screen TV, it said in excellent working order, to collect...its in a small village about 20 miles from me...i was the only one that bid on it..£10
she sent me a message saying you got a bargain there,i thought it would have gone for a lot more than that...when do you want to collect it?
So i said we would collect at weekend just gone..i won tv on friday
Then i got a reply to say ...sorry tv isnt working, they had been storing it in garage and it got damp and now it doesnt work!!
More like they decided to sell ita again, either ebay or local paper to see if they can get more money.
Whe your selling stuff you check it s working before you advertise it surely...silly cow :angry-smi123

yeah you could say that you dont mind you know someone who fixes them and since you won it you still want it. or keep an eye out to see if she puts it back on then report her to ebay

Actually I'd be gutted if I was selling a really good tv and it only sold for a tenner - especially as we are always so broke! I agree though as a buyer it would be very annoying.

just keep an eye on the items she is selling and then report her if she tries to sell it again.

thats why you put reserves on things

I don't think there's much you can do really. She's not really done anything very wrong - it's not good practise what she's done but I'm not sure it's against the rules. Buyer or seller can back out at any time I think.....

You can't put a reserve under £50 so for most items it's not worth it. Plus the fact that it's costs quite a lot extra to put a reserve on.

Can you not put a starting price on though?
I know when I've sold things, I've been asked for a min price, and because it hasn't really mattered to me, have put them on for like 50p or a £1.
Not very good selling practice by the seller though.

Yeah you can put a higher starting price but it can work against you - plus the fact - again - it costs more to do that.

Does it cost more?? I've only ever been charged the normal price for it (I think) but like you say, if you put a high starting bid on the item, it can stop people from wanting to bid.

think i would still rather put on a reserve or a higher starting price. its not much more and if they put it on again they will be paying twice anyway

no there is nothing you can do about it if the buyer pulls out....i messaged her tonight and she told me she took the tv to th local tip
