A friend posted this on another forum and as I've not seen in on here I thought I'd post it. I can't believe they are going to stop us selling second hand cloths nappies on ebay. It's so ridiculous.
Please sign the petition.
Thanks Sarah x

Just been reading the petition, they count nappies in the same class as used underwear and therefore say they are of an adult/mature nature?
I guess this is to stop the sale of used panties, which is apparently quite a fetish for some people (not me though, thought makes me shuder)! applying it to cloth nappies is stupid!
So I have signed it.

I have signed it but there is a part of me that says to heck with e-bay! There are plenty of other sites that will sell nappies and you don't have to pay fees. That said I sold the majority of my nappies on e-bay and think that others should be allowed to do the same.

I've just been googling this story and am totally amazed at the hostile reaction of some people to selling cloth nappies. Some people seem to think its intrinsically dirty. Maybe that's the Ebay point of view too.
The whole POINT of cloth nappies is to re-use and recycle and I'm amazed some people seem to think that it's disgusting. I am glad to say that I have never come across a negative attitude in the UK. Anyway, I agree that I'd rather buy not using Ebay as it seems to be taking over the world... (well, alongside google I guess, which I love)
right, a rather confused post, but hey, forgivable I hope.

Signed - I used reusables up until I had 3 small people in nappies, 2 teething and the third with a dicky tummy!
Now I have one in nappies, 1 slowly being potty trained and I really want to get back to using my reusables. Radio 2 had a slot on this morning, talking about Real Nappy Week and how many nappies contribute to the landfill etc, and I felt SO GUILTY!!!! So despite my youngest son's tummy probs, I am, with clothes peg on nose, reverting back to reusables from today.
If nappies are washed, they are clean - if you can buy second hand clothes, there is no difference. So long as people are happy to buy them, whats the prob? - considering some of the v dodgy stuff ebay allow on their site, I think 2nd hand nappies are the least of their worries!

My mother-in-law used cloth nappies on my partner, and his sister.
She kept them for almost 20 years. We use them now to mop up the sick.
I couldnt really imagine using them as nappies though.

I have signed this. Seems very unreasonable to ban the sale of 2nd hand cloth nappies. Isn't that the whole point of an auction site like ebay? To recycle and sell items rather than throw them out? I hope they change their policy and allow it.
