Ok so I know everyone loves free delivery but I didn't think I'd get this many orders since putting the special offer up!

I have had 13 orders in 9 days!!! That to me is simply amazing and I just can't believe it.

I am worried once the special offer ends people will stop buying! I have decided to set the delivery from 1st march at £3 on orders under £50 and over £50 Free delivery... what do you think?

Anyway to counter-act I would like to do another special offer... not one that will put me out of pocket too much (especially with stupid paypal charges!) but not sure what to do... any ideas?

Thats sounds about right to me - £3 won't put people off who only want to make a small order and having free postage over £50 may encourage some people to spend that little bit more :)

That was my thinking behind it. I don't mind losing a bit of profit with postage if I actually make more if you know what i mean! lol

I have also now discovered a better post office! The one I use is (well i thought it was) closest but a nightmare... in the middle of a HUGE tesco and parking is a nightmare... also i can get tempted by naughty shops and spend money as its a shopping centre.

There is one that is a 20 minute walk there and 25 back (up hill) so If all these orders keep coming I could actually make money (save petrol) and lose weight! woohoo! win - win situation! might sweat a bit though! haha!

Well Done !!! I have decided to do a similar thing with my new site. P&P £2.95 all orders over £25 free.

It's great isn't it when you have orders pouring in ... I'm VERY quiet at the moment.

Make it £2.95 - only 5p difference but a world of difference in perception! I'm a shocker for rounding down, my dh says it is why i'm always in debt. If i see £3 p&p i think £3, but if i see £2.95, i think £2:clapping:

I have also decided to have set postage rate. This has taken a long time for me to decide to do this and I hope it will the right decision, I will be introducing this soon

Well done for getting that many orders. I am very quiet atm.

forgot to say have you ever run a competition?? Maybe offer a free £10 voucher or a special discount for the winner to spend on your site. I've not done one yet so can't give any feedback on this but I know others have

Can you offer a free gift if spending over a certain amount ? Don't know if you can source something to giveaway ?

you're so right! i am going to change it to £2.95!

I thought about giving something maybe a take-a-long taggie (might cost too much though) but it depends on how much is spent i could set that limit.

hmmm am looking into some bowls and spoons to go along with the weaning part of my site. maybe i could do something with that.

well not happy i walked 30 mins in the end (to PO) and got there.... it was shut! it was dead on 1pm grrrrr! so gping to another one! me and erin fed the ducks though! :D

Hi Hannah,

Glad to hear business is booming!!!
I think £2.95 is perfectly reasonable and I would buy something with that postage price. If it was free postage for over £25 spent I would defo bump up my order but if it were free over £50 I might not. Think that's what I will do on my site.
Pain in the bum going to the P.O. all of the time though. If things really take off I have been wondering how to get around this. I remember the q's at my local P.O. and how cross everyone used to get with me in my ebaying days!!
Pensioners were the worst lol!!!!

I would definately go with £2.95 P & P. To establish what the customer spend should be in order to receive free P & P, I would look at your ACS, then increase this slightly - perhaps by the average price of an item. Am I making any sense at all? So if you ACS is £22 and the average cost of your products is £6 - why not make your threshold spend £30 for free P & P.

Next special offer, could be something free - I would say that a freebie always goes down well with customers! Perhaps something related to feeding as your focus is BLW....bibs, spoons, face cloths! Why not have a look on ebay to see what bulk buy/job lots they have got on there?

Hope that makes sense! More importantly hope it helps!

Good Luck! :D

Thanks Anji I appreciate that... hmmm thinking about the £50 thing now but not really wanting to go down to £25 maybe £35 or £40 will chat to DF see what he thinks.

Erm also my day just got better! A lady from a company has contacted me today saying my site was EXACTLY what they were looking for, for their product... how cool is that! Obviously not going to rush into anything especially with all the money I have spent out its just nice someone is coming to me instead of the other way round!

Royal Mail will collect everyday from your house for £256 a year, for the person wondering about going to the PO everyday. Effectively £1 a day, which in my case was only what i was spending on fuel anyway and saved me 5 hours a week.

WOW - well done, happy to hear that it's goine well. I think it's a great idea to offer free P&P on orders over £50. And yes, the theory behind charging £2.95 rather than £3.00 definetely makes sense!

It's such a buzz when you make a special offer or discount and it helps to pull in more customers! Long may it continue!

So pleased that its going so well for you!! well done!!:happy72:

I totally agree with the £2.95 thing. I always just look at the first figure. If I see £2.95 I would just think "oh a couple of quid for P & P, thats ok!" If I see £3 I would think "Mmmm, £3, almost a fiver!!!"

I think the idea of a freebie is great. Even if it was just a couple of spoons or a voucher for 10% off your next order!!

Hope the success continues for you!

Thanks Sarah, how's the cards coming along?

Really well!! I've had several orders this week, mainly for Mothers Day cards so I'm busy with them, which unfortunatley means I haven't had chance to do much more to the site.

Thanks for asking!
