Can't remember if I moaned about this before but a couple of weeks ago I had car trouble and couldn't get it into gear at all, ended up getting a lift into school from a very kind mum (boys were late but just made it in time for assembly) then got a lift from my dad to my MW appt. Only then was I able to call the RAC out. Had to cancel my weekly parent-helpy thing in Year 1 as I had to wait an hour and a half (just how long I was told it would take, can't fault them at all.) Turned out to be the clutch so I had to be towed to the garage (scariest blooming experience of my life!) and ended up with a courtesy car with no power steering  (bearing in mind I'm heavily pregnant!) for 5 days before finally getting my lovely car back.
The last couple of days the car's been making an awful noise and I thought the exhaust was going. Decided we should really get it looked at so rang the garage and took it in to get it looked at. They hoiked it up, looked at it and said "it's the wheel bearing and I wouldn't advise you to drive it." I asked how long it would take, was told they could get it done by this afternoon. Soooo my dad gets called again, comes and gets us from the garage with the 2 child seats and brings us home. Rang the garage at 1.30 as advised, get told it'll be ready 3-4pm. My dad again for the school run, then the car's ready so over we go to get it, swap kids and seats over from one car to the other.
So now I have a working car again. For now... And all in all it's cost us around £460 in just 2 weeks. :smiley-fa
And that's not to even begin to mention the endless stress and hassle we're having around the whole home birth thing at the moment... So, any guesses as to how high this baby's adrenalin levels will be at birth? :ac39: :ac39:
