Hiya All
Hope you guys n dolls can help me, had an order yesterday but didnt get an e mail to tell me.Only found out when a paypal payment e mail came through?
is there something in the admin thing i should/could look at?

I think some of the others have had this problem - its something to do with the customer not returning to the site after the payment has been made - I think! Sure others will know better than me though.

I have had this on numerous occassions but have no answer as to why it happens :(
Only thing I can suggest is not to reply on your emails, always check for orders in your admin panel :)

There is a way to fix it but you need your web person to do it. Its the Paypal IPN contribution.

When the customer has completed the Paypal payment they need to click 'continue' if you don't have the contribution. On mine its been done so whether they 'continue' or not I get the order.

I get this a lot and I have to manually adjust my stock, but only after I have contacted the customer to confirm what they have bought.

yep best to get it done if you do rely on emails 'cause oftem paypal emails don't come through either.

Without the PAypal IPN the Paypal emails tell you the total but not what the person has bought so its a nightmare. Doesn't look good if you have to email your customers to ask what they have ordered.

I know , i had to ring this lady as she had bought wooden letters but obviously didnt know which ones! nightmare....
Chell do you have to install something or just find the ipn thing and do something with that? i think when i was looking through my admin i did come across paypal ipn (i might be wrong)

On mine its under modules, payment then I have two Paypal options, the second has 'Enable PayPal IPN Module - true'.
This wasn't there till DP did the contribution for it though (far too techy for you or I ;-) You would need to ask your web person if it isn't there.

If I am unsure of something then I test it myself. I place an order, pay be Paypal then refund myself and cancel it.
A meet up sounds good, we'll have to work out a central place. IS anyone doing the baby show? I don't even know when the Birmingham one is.

Are you get your emails from the contacts page? I'll email you through that to test it.

sometimes the emails just come through in the wrong order, just a lag between your website server and your ISP. As long as the order's properly in your admin and the payment has gone through properly it's not so much of a problem. FWIW there are two versions of the PayPal IPN and the version I have is inactive but it still works, which is weird, but I ain't complaining, lol.

I think even if it is set up poroperly it can happen from time to time - one of those random things?
