Ok something silly or not

Someone has parked a car opp our house and it's been there for 3 days and not moved, it is a new picasso or something like that. It looks like a hire car. It doesn't belong to either next door and the man who drove it just walked away. Dh and next door dh are a bit miffed off as it means neither of us can park outside our house without blocking the road. We both have drives but we both have more than 1 car.

So come on what do you think, do you think that whoever put it there has a liberty or should the men just chill

If it's got valid road tax there's not much you can do. If you are worried you can call the police but if it's not causing an osbtruction (apart from you not being able to park) then there's little you can do and it'll probably be gone soon. It's worth phoning the police incase it's been reported stolen.

I would say chill, it is not as though they have parked over someones drive.

If it has been there for 3 days and doesn't belong to anyone in the street (as far as you know) I'd call the police to report it as abandoned.

I think the plan is to do that on Monday, it has all the looks of a hire car and I know that a lot of cars that are hired are delivered on Fridays or weekends if the hire period starts early on a Monday morning, it is common practice with many hire companies, which is why we think it is in our street as whoever has hired it won't be insured to drive it till Monday.

It is parked outside an empty house which is for sale and they had viewing on the weekend, it was strange as people kept looking over to see if we were going to get in it when we came out the house!

We have a hire car sat outside our house at the mo but it is for dh, but they are very lucky to have been able to park outside of here usually they would have had to park somewhere else in the road, it has been there since Friday for dh to use tomorrow so I expect thats what it is.

i'd ring the police give them the resistration number and ask them to run a check,as it might be stolen, after all leaving it for 3 days seems odd.

Good Luck and let us all know what happen's next.

YES! My neighbour forever parks on the road at the top of his driveway, we live on a bend in the street and the way he parks it's nearly impossible to get out of my driveway. I'm forever cursing my neighbours for it! Actually, one night, just as I was getting into my car his sister pulled up at the bottom of my driveway (he lives across the street btw!) no cars on the other side for once but she blocked off my drive! I reversed as far as I could then blasted the horn til she came out of his house and moved. Cheeky cow!

Sorry B, not much help but I've got that off my chest!

we had a car at the bottom of our drive(the other side of the road) we could get out if we reversed off the wrong way then had to turn round (live in a culdesac) to get out. we got fed up and put a note on asking him not to park there as we have trouble getting off the drive and if there is damage to his car tough.

I'd call the police in case it has been stolen or used in a crime.

seems a bit odd leaving it there for 3 days but there's not a lot you can do.

If it's still there in the morning I would phone the local police station and report it abandoned

Car gone, it went about 7am, didn't see who got in it, but it looks like it was a hire car.

I was gonna say it could be someone parking it there while they go on holiday. We have a space outside our house that people fight for. The opposite side of our road is double yellows all the way down and our house is a very popular parking spot!

what an anti-climax!!! i've only just read the whole thread and i thought it would be something exciting like a stolen car or a getaway car or something!!!:cheesy: :cheesy:
