I got a free trial once. I used it and got lots of hits through but not sure they converted. Very addictive though!

Hi, a few of my clients (I'm a web designer) have used google adwords and it's quite expensive - £100 per month min. It's all pay-per-click and there have been scams where competitors click on your ad and use up all your clicks. One client of mine is fed up because of the expense, with very little success so has stopped using it. Is better to go for SEO rather then pay google loads of money.

I do and have it to be quite good so far :D

Thanks to Statscounter I can see the words that people use to find me and from this I can tell that I have had orders from it.

Its nowhere near as expensive as £100 per month - you put in how much you are willing to spend in a month and when your money runs out your ad stops showing....

I spend very little, but I also know, because i track them, that I get very few conversions - so I am thinking of stopping it

Interestingly I did get hit really heavily when I used it to advertise the DivaCup - someone used up all my credit - but have not had that problem with nappys although I know other sellers have...

Its actually not possible for a competitor to use up all your hits unless they have lots of pc's and internet connections.

Google obviously had to put things in place to prevent this else noone would bother using it (unless they had more money than sense).

Adwords can be a very useful tool if used properly - target direct audiences (ie dont put in nappies if you are dealing with cloth nappies / even better target more specific brands that you stock - eg fuzzi bunz ).

These keywords are lower cost thus you get a more targetted audience (people searchign for fuzzis) rather tahn people who might be after info on the best nappy for their childs weight in the disposable world.

HTH :)
