Right... being a little bit clued up to my up and coming financial situation whilst pregnant, I spent all my commission paying off car loan, bank loan and credit cards so i had a clean slate.

Just because I have paid off the sum of my Virgin card they keep sending me credit card cheques... they basically know i've cut my card up so are trying to get me to spend money with these cheques instead!!!!

Not only that I apparently over paid them £25 and they said they'd send me it but I haven't seen it yet... but had letters about transferring balances and these cheques! grrrr!

No wonder we had record breaking bankrupcy last year... thankfully I have my head screwed on a bit. But the amount of people that don't and that would spend what they see as "free money"

Isn't it about time somthing is done about these money theiving B@$&@£$:angry-smi123

I totally agree with you, its stupid! Well get this one too, we wanted a loan some years back from the bank and a condition of having it was I paid of my credit card off, all £120 of it and closed the account as I didnt work and they didnt want us to run up debts we couldnt afford, sounds sensible. So we did it, it didnt matter that much. 2 days later the Bank called to ask if I would like to open another credit card up with them, and raised the credit amount I could have "Doh" I didnt have it, but they really make you wonder sometimes.

I get as annoyed with shops offering store cards with massive interest rates. If you go in to Top Shop on a Saturday afternoon you always see young girls being tempted to open a card as they can say 10% and have x amount of clothes to take away with them.

I was one of those young girls! When I was 19 i got one and everytime i wanted a new outfit for the weekend I'd buy something on that card so i could save my money for drink!

I have learnt from my mistakes though :clapping:
