Thanks guys - its my parents - I had sad news on Fri that my best friends sis had died - she had terminal pancreatic cancer and the funeral is on Sun. I phoned my parents to ask if they could mind one of the kids (and Drews parents would take the other 2) on Sun so we could go to the funeral - obv cant take the kids with us. They wont. They havent seen the boys since before Xmas - we invited them for Finns birthday, the week before Xmas, they were "busy". We asked them to call down on Xmas day as usual, they were "busy". I NEVER ask them for help - do u know my dads response to me asking if they could help out, even for half an hour tomorrow? - cant your inlaws do it? - god, they do EVERYTHING! they are always there, whatever we ask - I ask my parents and they just give me excuses

aww poppet that must be heartbreaking for you. Is there any other solution so that you can go?
