once i have got my childminding sorted i will no longer have to work eves.
so i have decided to go and get some cake decorating skills from somewhere.

i love making birthday cakes but am not all that good,

tend to make them for the kids and just done a pig at short notice for a friend(nothing special as i didnt have long to do it)

how do i get pics on here as it keeps telling me my files are to big.

does anyone else make cakes and how difficult is it to learn to create people animals etc,i have not got any artistic bones in me.

I love making cakes and decorating them. I have not tried doing figures myself yet but that is something I would love to do. So if you get any good tips please pass them on.

www.cakecraftshop.co.uk is great for decorating supplies etc. I use them for most of my decorating things and inspiration for cakes

I use photobucket to reduce the size of my photos.

hey hun....i started to make my own cakes...basically just learned from trial and error! the more you do the better you get so to speak...here are a few that i made for people....i sold some, just enough to cover my costs and a little extra....but when i got preggo with DD i had to stop doing them because of the morning/afternoon/evening sickness and havent really started up again...think i mite though.....i really enjoyed doing them! (sorry about the size....couldnt remember how to change it! :cheesy: )

TBH hun i just used a book..think it was called quick and easy cakes or something like that for the basic design, then just adapted them to what i wanted! :happy72:

its really easy just 3 layers of sponge ,turrit was made from flower paste moulded around things I found in the kitchen,I found a really good piece of kit to make sure the sugar paste is flat and shiny and no finger marks! and the flowers i made with a flower press which is easy to use and the icing was those little tubes of writing icing you can get from asda
