Hi Antonia
I use a template that Daffs created for me and I send myself through the vbulletin forum software or via email

I don't do an actual newsletter (maybe will one day but not atm LOL), but when I do an email shot I use a HTML template I create and send using thunderbird where I have distribution lists setup with my different client types in (hosting only, web clients, logo clients, etc).

I do my own, i have a thing in my admin that just requires a bit of text - then it does it in html for me - so it sends out two newsletters but everyone only gets one - somethinf else attached my header for me, something else addresses the newsletter to the specific customer, then i have a bit that asks who do i want to send it to - either all customers subscribed or just those who haven't logged on for three months or more etc - so i chose an option and press a button and off they go.
Ahhh this thread has just given e a fantastic idea for the next newsletter - cheers.

Now you are asking difficult questions.
Hmmm - i think - webhost4life? But is it not just part of my zen cart? Does everyones admin not do newsletters like that?
Maybe we aren't talking about the same newsletters - i mean the things that i use to tell people about new products etc - ( only i never ger round to talking about new products ;-) )
people pay for this? Does it not all get included when you pay for hosting at the start of the year? Ooo and there's me taking it all for granted.
As always confused ;-)

no it's a thing in the oscommerce admin, the account sign-up can have an option for newsletter opt-in if you want it to, plus the email manager would make it so you could send it to others who aren't account-holders if you want.

yup - just what I was after! And yes, not everyone gets that with their hosting and people do pay for it!

Ps Can someone explain the outlook distribution list or the os commerce bit.
I have oscommerce but it won't let me send pretty newsletters.

I think there's a setting that says whether you can send email in html or not, try tinkering with that and see hat you get? The distribution list thing is that outlook and other email programs have 'distribution list' facilities, you can add email addresses to a list and then send an email to the whole list at once. Have a fiddle around with your email program and see what you can do with it, most email progs are vastly underused :)

For Ihelm Enterprises I have a template that I use and then I use a free newsletter thing Michael found for us which sends it in html format and text format - depending on what someone has ticked. Works a treat and makes it super easy. :-)
For Delicate Dreams I just use the newsletter function in zencart which works quite well. :-)
