oh hun thats awful....i really dont like the dark on...ur first one was MUCH better! i would be very very annoyed to say the least!

reminds me of when we were living with inlaws b4 we bought our house up here...they went out and bought this dining room set...really really not my cup of tea but completely their taste so when they asked me if i liked it i said "yes, its nice" and what did they say...."good cuz we bought it for you!" . i know they meant well but WE HADNT EVEN BOUGHT A HOUSE!!!! so they just bought it thinking we would have room to put it! AND IT WAS REALLY NOT MY CUP OF TEA!!! so when we did eventually buy a house we had to cram it in the front room and it didnt go with ANYTHING (anything that would go in my MILS house wouldnt go ANYWHERE in the world...trust me...). In the end i put it in the garage..(used the excuse that DS kept pulling the chairs on top of him) and its still there now. the table comes out once a year for bday parties and its completely covered so no-one can see.

I hate it when people make decisions that effect your house. I would give him a kick in the nads hun....and then chop up the table and burn it!

It looks good in the pics. You said it belonged to his other sister. Does it have sentimental value to him? if so, maybe you can strip it and refinish it as smirnoff said.

In all honesty, I always felt that the home was for the females to decorate how they saw fit. :D
But when my dp moved in, I had to compromise and allow him a few things here and there. I have mostly antique furniture. My dp had this neon cat lamp that he realy liked. ::gag::
I bit my tongue and let him set it where ever. Eventualy, it fell and broke. Whoohoo!!

Maybe you'll get lucky and the leg will break off and you can beat him in the head with it. :D

Oh no, your one was much nicer, that really is very cheeky and presumtious of him to do that. But as a couple of others have said you could make it look nice, but that's not the point is it?? Grrrrrrr...

ruthie
04-02-2007, 10:25 AM
I like both but thats not the point, I can't beleive he did it or that his sister agreed without talking to you first!! My dh would know life wouldn't be worth living if he did something like this, I can understand why you are so mad I'd be absolutely livid. I think its usually the female who chooses stuff for the home, it's our domain after all, what would he be like if you went to his work and interfered there!!:fryingpan:

well he's just made life difficult for himself, having to strip it down, what a plonker, why cant men just leave things alone.

one day they will learn.
