while browsing the entertainment sectin on the BBC website (distracting myself as uaual from what I went on it for origianly) I found this to do with Celebtriy Big Brother.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/education/6283833.stm
What do you think?
Is it a good idea or will the Politicians make the usual mess and make the situation worse as far as the subject goes.
With CBB the more I think about the situation with Shilpa and Jade/Danielle/Jo the more I am starting ti think that Jealousy was a big factor behind the outburst.
Think about it.
Jade is famous for being on Big Brother and that is it.
Danielle other then being a former Miss Great Britain (I think that was the title) she is more famous for being part of the WAG scene
Jo was part of a BBC childrens show then a teeny bopper group
Shipla on the other hand is the Indian version of a Hollywood star as Bollywood is getting better known over hear as more films are being made here (especially in Wales) as well as being watched.

What really annoys me about this is that racist comments were made on there by others calling someone White Trash - what I dont understand is why that has been overlooked and not commented on.
At the end of the day schools can only teach so much but it also comes down to what the child is taught at home. I dont believe Jade Goody is racist or said what she did intentionally to be racist. She is just not the brightest spark and her mouth engages before her brain!

i totally agree with you toni, there is not a lot that schools can do (having worked in a school environment) to tackle racism and homophobia if they are being told at home that it is right.. its VEry frustrating!

-I think its all been blown up by the media like ravenfire said when Jermaine said the goodys were white trailer trash nothing was said! why!
I think its definetly the influence from parents that really needs to be the issue, schools can only do so much!

too true on Jade Goody
plus it does seem that the media and people only hear what they want to hear from certain people and can ignore what they don't want to hear

me and dp were talking about this and we agree with each other for once lol
at jacks school they teach kids all about different cultures and what food they eat what they wear how they live ect they even have food tasting days where they will cook the food of the paticular culture they are learning about and i do think this helps kids understand the different races we have
it does start at home i think
the school can only do so much and need the parent cooperation we (parents and schools ) need to work as a team when it comes to teaching our kids and the way some people just let the school get on with it and then moan when the school does something they dont like really bugs me
i dont see why the schools should be targeted as as far as i know they do their best to teach the kids about different aspects of life
sorry not sure if any of that makes sense heads a bit fuzzy lol
