I am currently on the phone to british gas who we have a sort of insurance with if the heating packs up, well the foreigner that i was speaking to, that has now hung up on me, will not talk to us because the account has always been in the wrong name (it was mr russell, his ex's surname is wassell, maybe thats why?)but up until now we have never had a problem calling them out for repairs. yet today, probably the coldest day of the year so far, they are refusing to even deal with us, let alone book us an engineer! the only thing they'll do is open us a new account at an extra £12 a month because we are now wanting insurance on a faulty heating system!!!20061008 20061008 they will not do anything else unless i can give them our membership number which i can't find, and all i have is the reference from the direct debit out of the bank, which customer services have to deal with and they shut at 8pm:ac39:
i'm just about to ring them back and open up a HUGE can of whoopass on whichever poor bugger is unlucky enough to answer the phone to me!!!!!!!!!:angry-smi123

1-0 to me!!! i just rang back, cool as a cucumber and spoke to someone else who has booked us an engineer for tomorrow morning!! when he asked my name i said mrs salter but the policy is in my husbands name, he didn't ask any more questions!!! so, although we are gonna be freeeeeezing all night, we will have the problem fixed in the morning, thank god!!!

yes, the heating engineer came out this morning but it's not good news, although he's fixed it for now it's on it's way out and will need replacing to the tune of at least £2000!! british gas will continue to fix it as long as it is repairable but our policy doesn't cover us for anything when it gives up the ghost completely!! D'oh! oh well, at least we're warm for now.....and i put the gas hobs on this morning when i got up and the kids got dressed in the kitchen lol!!!
