heard about this during the news this afternoon, I hope it doesn't cause too much damage, it's an environmental disaster we could do without

ITs getting worse going by the news on the radio this morning! Apparantly its now lost some of its containers and has spilled quite a lot of oil...

what i find frightening is that this exact ship (using a different name) run aground about 10 years ago.. how on earth was it allowed back with a patch job??? frightening i tell you...

all the cargo is washing up on the beach and local people are taking it!!its legal to do so due to some old shipping law, someone has salvaged a £15,000 motobike:smiley-fa others are taking barrels full of top of the range make up,trainers, wine, the police are powerless to stop them.

I said to dh I though it was the law that you could take the stuff off of the beach but he said that it would be classed as smuggling, I did wonder if that was why they told people to stay away and that some of the containers were dangerous, why would it be carrying stuff like motorbikes and chemical stuff. Just getting my coat,

My DH said to me before the cargo washed up that its maritime law that you can take goods washed in from sea, according to sky news they can take it as long as they declare it to some authority, the police are handing out forms for people to declare, people are down there with tractors lmao!

ok i live in cumbria, anyone got a bed for the night and a spare tractor?
