It has been brought to my attention today that my customers cannot checkout on my website. I suppose this might explain why I haven't had any orders since 2nd Jan :angry-smi123 That is the last time I know it was working and have not had an order since. I feel like such an idiot for not noticing, do you check your website to make sure it's working properly?

and another thing, it will probably take me the rest of the day and night to work out how to fix it :angry:

I did install fast easy checkout and I think it was after this date, I should have tested it really

I found out from a potential customer who very kindly told me it wasn't working who I am hugely grateful too otherwise I wouldn't have known

You're not an idiot - how would you know?? I can test it for you if you like. Mines working ok - only had one order from the website but it came through ok.

One AOL user said it happens to her on a lot sites and the Laura Ashley website had told her it is something to do with the AOL security programming.
The AOL customer help facility has info in there to assist so they know it can be an issue.

Yes I think they can checkout without having an account. Not sure where you check but I think they can.

The AOL browser and OSC do clash - AOL hates it and refuses to do anything. But I found that ppl using the AOL browser couldn't even set up an account let alone order anything.

I hope you get it fixed soon. Let us know, I fancy a broswe.....

Love the Fair trade clothes - shame you still don't have my kids sizes in. I actually like your organic and Ft stuff loads better thsan your other stuff but then maybe i would ;-) But then maybe i don't have that sort of dosh to keep my kids all in FT and organic - wish i did.

I can't take payments over the phone, I guess people could email their order and I can send them a paypal invoice but that's alot of faffing about and I really want it working properly

tried to go in through mozilla firefox whatever that is but it still wont work. if i have problems on othersites and it wont take payment i usually go on mozilla and it works so dont know if it is aol or big probs with your checkout

when you create an account it will tell you that an email has been sent to you, just click continue and you should continue through the checkout process, it's a bit long winded now but I'm hoping to sort that out but I'm frightened of breaking it again!!!

I am really glad you told me it wasn't working, yes I have been to hell and back this weekend but I didn't want to stop until I got it fixed, I may have lost customers and orders while it's been broken.

I have just changed the setting on something and I think it may have fixed it this time :unsure:

I had a look at fast easy checkout when I first read this thread (cos I'm a geek that way) and afaik I followed the instructions etc and when I logged into an existing account (the john doe account on a 'vanilla' oscommerce plus FEC) it dropped the thing I'd added to the cart. So I gave up. It would be better if the package had all the changed files in so that Beyond Compare addicts like me could just skim through, lol.

purchase without account can be modified to make it run pretty much like the fast and easy checkout in the look and feel anyway.

Its a good mod and pretty easy to install.
