I AM SO ANGRY. AS most of you will know haz has an absess on her top teeth. Well on 29th Dec I got a dentist friend of mine to have a look, write and get her a prescription as it had burst. We werent to give her the antibiotics until it bubbled up again. So we didnt. its been sitting in my fridge. Well had a look tonight and its bubbling again. So she needs the antibiotics.....

called nhs direct to see if i can use the ones already in my fridge.(on hold for 9 mins 23 secs) she said "yeah i cant see a problem with that" which sounded wrong to us. so i asked her again, she said that she would check with her superior..... came back 5 mins later to say dont know call your pharmacy....... RRRRRRAAAAAAARRRRRRR

Called the pharmacy.. no cant use them..... call out of hours doc to get another prescription.. another 10 mins hold time... bloke answering had very little english.. didnt know what i was talking about.. waiting for a doc to call me back.. that was an hour ago.. stilll waiting... How long does it take!!???????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????

I havent even got to the point of trying to convince them to write me a presciption.. yes i know its dental and i should be talking to a dentist... no dentists around, emergency line isnt working adn my friend flew out to switzerland this morning!!!!! (typical it being today that i need her !!!LOL)

RRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRR

Still waiting....

aha, this would be the new improved service from the new NHS

far better than just ringing the out of hours number and speaking direct to the doctor.

Me? Sarcastic? never!

Wih the .gov would just realise that instead of tinkering and fussing all they need to do is pay the staff more, get rid of the administration and pump more money in!

Then we would get the Health Service we pay our taxes for!

(oh, hang on, didn't blair spend all our taxpayers money on some sort of war in Iraq?)

If you have any tea tree oil hun rub some on. She's probably too young to use it as a mouth wash but it's brilliant for dental stuff and absesses. Hope she feels better soon x x

I remember when I had an absess and I had no dentist so had to call the out of hours Dr, he just gave me 4 painkillers and told me to find a dentist, infact it was the receptionist who just leaned through the door to the emergency medical centre and handed them to me, didn't even get the chance to speak to someone face to face about how much pain I was in. I HATE the out of hours Dr's

I phoned them last year - Matthew was really poorly. Had tonsillitis and I just couldn't get his temp down. I phoned them around 10pm and at 12.45am they still hadn't phoned back - I was upstairs in the bedroom with him and he was so dilerious that he didn't know who I was and I could hear the phone ringing downstairs - I knew it was them but couldn't leave him to answer it as I was on my own and how could I leave a child who was standing in the middle of his bedroom not knowing where he was??? Useless. I tried to phone them the other week too when Kate kept passing out but couldn't even get through!

hope her mouth is a bit better today.
try asking your friend for the powder form instead of it being made into liquid then if you need it again you only need to add tap water. the night doctors (called keydoc here) gave my son it that way because he had an ear infection but it had poped and they wanted it to clear up on its own but just incase it came back worse i had the powder to beable to make up and give straight away.

really hope shes ok big hugs
