not too sure on 13 yo boys, we have just done our 12 yo girls bedroom in plain wallpaper and lilac accesories, it's great the amount of things you can get to dress a room with the easy option of changing it without too much hassle! good luck though, it took us weeks!

My BF painted his 13 year old's room last year - must admit his son chose it himself and it was a plain mid blue. He has also put up posters and pictures which can always be changed around frequently.
Your idea does sound good and modern.

have a look on some websites and see whats about. 13yrs is a funny age i would think something plain (like apri suggested) that he can put his posters on is good.

Try the dulux website, they have the 'paint a virtual room' section where your son could have a look for inspiration? and look at different colours schemes, etc.

I have used it at school with my textiles gcse students, with there interior design project... good fun!

My friend painted her sons room in blue and yellow - the favourite colours of his favourite rugby team - and put up shirts from the rugby team and football shirts that he had grown out of and refused to throw away in the corners and walls around the room with scarves and posters.
Has he got any passions like this?

Your idea is good too - has he come up with any other ideas? For a loft style bedroom - if he is a big football fan - you could put shirts or posters into big frames around the room - that would look smart. Im babbling on now arent i! Im sure however you do it it will turn out really well.

I have this problem soon as my DS needs a refurbish. But he's 18 so I'm sure he will have some ideas of his own allright!!
That Dulux website sounds good, will take a look at that too.
Good luck with yours
