:hello2:

Hello....well I've finally ventured into the world of forums and chat rooms!

I am currently in Sydney Australia, and next Wednesday (17th) we are moving to the UK for 2 years (husband work transfer).

I have 2 precious babies: Emmie, who is 15 months old, and Gus who is 4 years old.

I'm wondering if there is anyone here who either lives in Leamington Spa or has recently done a relocation to a new country.....as you can imagine I'm feeling a bit anxious about the whole thing, and would love to hear other peoples experiences and any information/advice you can offer.

Thanks.

Hi Cookie, nice to meet you and welcome to MZ !

I have never relocated myself but I have a few American friends that do it all the time, due to their dh's being in the military. I think if they could give you any advice it would be to get involved in local groups to meet new friends and because you have children, that should make it alot easier. I have met lots of people through my children. Try and look at it as an adventure and a chance to live somewhere different, not many people get chances like this ! By the way I was born in Australia - Brisbane - but Mum brought me home when I was about 18 months old, so don't remember any of it ! Good luck with it and look forward to chatting with you soon.

welcome to the group! I agree with lemon try going to mother and toddler groups its alot easier to make friends when you have children in common, when your ds starts at school you will probably make "lifetime" friends, good luck with the move hope everything runs smoothly for you all!:happy72:
