ive a agreed to do the accounts and tax returns for my friend paid of course. its a buisness where buisness partner lives with her and her dh (dh and bp are best mates) anyway they do cleaning in new build houses on building sites so pay C.I.S. ive sorted the accounts they were a right mess lol but now ive got to do this tax form do i fill in 2 or just 1 as all their money goes into the house as a hubby and wifey would and he gets spending money and the CIS comes out of what they get from the builder. if ive confused anyone i apologise deeply lol just ask if you dont understand i do really no what i am saying :smiley-fa

If they are not a limited company (i.e registered with Companies House) then they should probably be filing separate tax returns as they would be personal ones. However, I would have your friend call Inland Revenue and explain the business situation and see what they say.

it really doesn't matter, does it, where the income goes once it's in the house. It sounds like they need to sort out between themselves who has what share of the partnership, then file individual tax returns for themselves and a partnership return for the business. They'll need all the CIS forms and they'll need to get a move on!!

no they are not limited and i thought that everyone that worked on a building site has to have a cis card shes the only one with one!! so do i do her as the owner of the buisness and him as an employee all the money goes in her account omg what have i let myself in for!!!! i need to get a move on and all they do is argue about it lol

If they are registered with inland revenue as a partnership I believe they both do separate tax returns. I would really have them call Inland Revenue and have them ask what returns they need to be submitting.
