i dont think the stock is an issue, it just looks to me that you have a new site, and that you are in middle of a end of year re-stock, as apposed to a new company struggling. sorry to be blunt

I would like to thank everyone else that passed comment too, it was very much appreciated

to be ultra critical a few of the pics on the top still look as if they are squeezed and squashed, but that is ultra critical of your homepage

they are a bit squished because I squished them to make them fit

It looks far better but if you posted on the business forums they would say that the page is far too long. The large picture says nothing about your site or what you sell. You have to scroll down along way before you get to the text.
As far as I understand the first text is important for SEO so you need to get some keywords into it to help with Google, etc.
It looks 100% better than it did but the above comments are what I have read over and over again on ukbusinessforums.
When mine is changed the logo will be afr smaller so that you get to the relevant text/product images quicker.

I have registered on UKBF today so if I'm brave enough I might ask their opinions
no the picture doesn't say what I do but I quite like it and I suppose I could make it smaller, would a tag line under the heading help??

I don't post over there very often but do read the threads. I've just been reading about the use of - and _ in Urls and how google doesn't read underscores as a space. I thought I was doing good having baby_signing in the url of my new pages but obviously not!
DP spent aged adding a contribution while I was out today, the pillock did the wrong one!

Did you do it all yourself Tanya? It looks so much better :)
As mentioned earlier the pictures at the top look a bit squished up.
It is really easy to navigate round though :)
good luck with your post on UKBF ... they can sound a bit harsh on there sometimes but just take it constructive critism!

yes I built it all myself, I know the pictures are a bit squished and I'm trying to figure out what to do with them
the people on UKBF haven't been too bad and I wish I had posted on there sooner!
I have just had an idea and I'm off to see if I can make it work

Hiya
I love the main picture -very bright and professional - as the others say.
I'd bung in a few keywords, as Chelltune has suggested.
Agree with those who've mentioned the squished pictures at the top - I do like the pictures themselves, but I find it quite painful to see distorted pictures (please don't everyone look at mine now to see my own distortions :tcwozerek ).
It's looking great though!

Tanya, DP has just done the contribution for purchasing without an account on mine today, they mentioned that on the other forum about your site. We were waiting till after Christmas to do it.

It looks much better TJ. It is clearer and less busy. It does, as others have said look much more professional now.
If you are looking for ideas, more character clothing would be good!!

I did add this contrib a while ago but removed it again because the only difference between this and registering for an account was the password
why are people so frightened of opening an account
Chell

I don't understand it either but keep reading that creating an account is a major put off.

yeah I don't understand it either because you still have to input all the same information minus a password
I may add it back again though
I don't understand why that is either... I've never been bothered with creating accounts on websites before... infact i like it because it means i can go and check up on my order or whatever! However as soon as i took off the option of creating an account on my site I've had sales so i guess there is something in it!

you could always branch out to ladieswear one day! :D

Hi,
Hmm being very honest - when i first looked something seemed wrong - i love the children but it didn't feel right - then i came and read the other comments and thought best not say what i was gunna - then i read the comments again and went back and what has been said above is right BUT i know what feels wrong now - it's the logo with the stars at the top and the three siloettes - the rest of the page looks excellent but the old logo doesn't marry - in my opinion - and i am not sure why, maybe it's the stars.
I am so pleased that you kept the little faces accross the top - thay are lovely.
So yes loads better than before - oh i really need to change my site - it looked ok for a while but now it doesn't.
Brilliant - well done you! Wish i was that clever.

Hmm i thought i'd read all the replies then realised i'd missed thre epages out ;-)
You know what? Ok, we are all scrutinising the home page but would anyone else really look so hard at squished photos? I only see 2 which might be squished and i only noticed those 'cause it was mentioned. Of couse maybe best to get em unsquished but no big deal.
Maybe just jig the text to the top rather than having it under the picture or just to the right of the picture - this way you can see the picture and the text.
I love sites with just one side of boxes - i was adamant that i wanted only one side of boxes on mine - took a lot of nagging to get my own way on that one.
Changing my homepage this week - not drastically but a bit.
