Sat here feeling a creative block. What shall I make now??????????????????shrugshoulders111

I've got a big pile of fabric I can use, especially want to make something with my gingerbread fabric but just can't think right now what to do with it.

I could do some scented mini pillows for drawers but not sure if people are into those anymore.

Any ideas lol help me kick start myself please.:fryingpan:

You should make large tote bags. I get through about 1 every 2/3 months!
Or you could start brewing beer - yum!!! Ha ha!

Hiya,

What about some little tooth fairy pillows, you could even pop comething in so that they were scented. Just small little cushions with a pocket on the front.

Hmmmmm.....

Some little fabric teddies, filled with a bit of lavendar.... maybe call it something like 'bedtime bunny'

Thanks for the ideas :) I am alittle scared to make stuff for kids coz of the safety issues.

Getting my creative thoughts flowing though thanks!

Yes as in aprons, either half or full - like our grannies used to wear - actually child sized one's is a fab idea too. I'm not sure that gingerbread aprons will go down well with adults though. I had wanted one for ages so my mum bought me a tartan one for Christmas last year - i love it. So i have been looking to buy them at wholesale prices to add to my site but not in huge quantities. I did find one company but they wanted me to buy 500 minimum - hmmmm i doubt that i'd ever sell 500 aprons before i retire, i was thinking more along the lines of 10 to start.

Now if i had time i could make them myself but i don't so i won't. Red gingham pinnies - i was looking at some vintage fabric on ebay to make some but you never kbnow what you are getting on there do you? The cath Kidson style fabrics - very chabby chic - always seem to go down well but i was also thinking about using old curtains - this way you are recycling something - recycled curtain pinny's/aprons would be great and would support charity shops too.

bet you all think i'm bonkers - would you buy a pinny made out of an old pair of curtains? ;-)

My granny used to, she had different pinnys for different jobs, i find mine handy when the kids are baking or for just protecting clothes when i am cooking/cleaning, i prefer the full aprons though and don't like the frilly ones. I save my tartan one for Christmas day, i have since adopted two more aprons that i had to buy for my son for school - he refused to wear them so i have them.

Everyone should have a pinny ;-)

I think my mother got mine from the pound shop, it's a bit flimsy after being washed though and not ironable due to the silver thread running through it - the ones that i bought for school are heavy duty cotton but a bit drab. I used to have a plastic coated one but i set myself on fire whilst cooking one day, well more on melt really but it was enough for me to never buy one again.

Aww I'm sorry but I don't think I can make them, mainly due to the fabric cost and it's not really what I do you know.

Hope you find someone who can do it though.

After the shortening conversation on here yesterday I got the ingredients to make my gingerbread ornaments and well what a mess I made lol took me ages to clear up that stuff is sooooooooooooooooooooo sticky. Off to check if they were a success.
