Our kitten keeps jumping up on the work tops. How do I get it through to him that it's not the place to be sitting?

I never had a problem with our other cat but he doesnt seem to get it.

You really should know this, having had cats before, but you can't actually "train" a cat!!

Seriously, .... we just used to say "down" with a sharp tone and maybe a helpful shove in the direction of the floor!

For more useful insights into the mind of a cat, have a look at this diagram of the

mapping of the cat brain (http://www.xmission.com/~emailbox/mapping.htm) :D

This is the most correct and appropriate way to train a cat  . Sheesh I hate cats (and other animals who think they have the right to eat sleep drink with their owners). No offense to those who have cats and dogs etc, but ewww I can't stand it when I go back to MIL's and the cat eats at the same dinner table! :angry-smiley-044:

Do they put cushions on the chair so it can reach the table? ;)

I can see a whole new line in the Mumszone shop - highchairs for cats!

LOL you people! You're gonna get it from my MIL if she hears you guys! (oo I shove the darn thing out of my way EVERY time I see it. Once when it came sniffing at DS's porridge bowl (and MIL didn't lift a finger! :angry-smiley-005: ), I yanked its tail and dragged it away and shoved it far like you would a bowling ball hahaha I bet MIL and PETA are dying to get their hands on me! )
