Me and Dh went to bed at about 10.30ish last night, he has to be up at 5.30 as he is on days this week.

He woke me up twice, once asking where the sleeping bag was, then the second time going spare at a noise in the room....We have swapped rooms with the kids, so we are still getting used to it....The boiler is in their old room in a cupboard...and it has decided over the last few nights to drip for hours..Last night being the worst, we bathed the kids at the back of 7 and didn't use the hot tap again after that...At midnight the boiler was still dripping, once every 1-2 seconds....Like a dripping tap..Being knackered and used to sleeping through noise (dh snores and talks in this sleep) I was fine, but he hadn't slept a wink.

So midnight, I was ejected from bed whilst he carried the mattress down stairs.....Lovely...just what I needed. Then when we got downstairs, got sorted out and everything, he switched the light off and we have those energy efficent lightbulbs, that flash for a while when you switch them off. So that came out as well, he also put his thumb through the light shade and broke it, then managed to step on both my legs and half kill me.

Have emailed the council about the boiler already this morning, as it is awful. If I wake up to nip to the loo, it does keep me awake afterwards. So we are both tired and grumpy today, dreading tonight as well now....And he is off to work with a migraine....It never ends!!!

They just rang and they are sending an gas electrician out this afternoon....Don't know anything about boilers myself...but dh says it should fill and then drip for a bit straight after the hot water has been used...not hours and hours later....The boiler is apparently from 1990, when they put in central heating.....so it is pretty old. And I know a woman up the road had hers replaced lately.

oo hope you dont have to have new heating stuff sorted out. We had a communal boiler changed to private ones and the mess was horrific, pipes being changed, new radiators mess everywhere!!!!

I wouldn't mind so much actually....We'd like to buy this house in the next couple of years so it would save us a job, and we need to decorate anyway!
