Do you give gifts for raffles etc ?

This time of year, everyone seems to be asking me for pyjamas or something to donate to a raffle prize. I really don't mind doing it, but these are small local events that I really don't get alot of business back. Purely from a business point of view do you think I should keep giving ? I suppose it raises awareness of my site (I always attach a note saying with compliments and details of my site). Do you do the same ? Do you limit the amount you "give away" each month ?

Actually I don't think I've been asked! You should allocate yourself a budget/amount to give away each year and once that has been reached - that's it. Then at least you can honestly say to people that you've spent your budget on raffle prizes for the year.

Do you know what? I have done 4 times. Only once has anyone ever 'cashed it in' making me feel paranoid! I was wondering whether to do a childrens type site as a Mumszone prize, more like a photo gallery, but am wondering whether to bother or not. I think maybe it is worth giving prizes, but definitely set a limit!!

These people are not online, they are friends/colleagues where I live that do Social evenings to raise money for Football or Groups.

I get asked all the itme. last year i sent out loads and loads of prozes and thi syear am stickin to a limit this time, if i dont then i will not know where to stop.

I usually do. When ever I do a craft fair there is usually a raffle and I give a prize, usually a card making kit I've made up or a handmade album or exploding box album just something, it puts you higher up the list of phone calls next time they are booking people.

I have made bracelets for the school and have donated one to be raffled in aid of breast cancer month (Oct), but that's about it
