I bought a dolls house a few years ago and really enjoyed decorating it but didn't pursue it any further. Does anyone else do this? I was wondering where the best places would be for purchasing stuff to take this up again.

Where abouts in Essex are you, My mum does dolls houses and she runs a club in Clacton. There are quite a few places around Essex for getting stuff, will have to get the names of the places for them for you. The dolls house and minitures fair is on at Alexander Palace in a couple of weeks time too, Mum will be there with her club and their entry to the clubs comp. I'm going up to see her there.

I have a shop that Mum made me years ago but I have to admit that they do nothing for me. Mums are fantastic though and she makes them from scratch they are all old tudor cottages etc.

Thanks for your replies. Clacton is a bit far (I'm in Southend) although we occasionally go there as DH has family there.

We do have a shop in town which seems quite good.

:update: I had completely forgotten that we put the house I originally decorated in the loft. We got it down today and it has kept in not bad condition. The outside needs repainting and the roof repapering but the inside decor is ok. I will need to redo all the lighting and all we managed to save was a family of 3, a toilet and basin (the bath got damaged) and some bits from the ground floor which I had made into a cake shop.

Of course when the girls got home they were drawn to it like moths to a flame and immediately started fighting over it. Must be good.shrugshoulders111

I thought about revamping it and maybe giving it to the school as a competition prize for the Christmas fair.
