Really pleased I have made Team Leader in the 3 months i've been doing usborne books :) Now have 6 members of my team and this month we sold £1200 of books!
I've got loads of bookings coming up and i'm really looking forward to the run up to christmas now. If it wasn't for all this messing about with the copyright legislation (my website has to be scrapped from end of april) it would be perfect!
Right i guess i need to stop spending money now and actually try and make some :fryingpan: , i have over 1.5k of stock cluttering up my house and can not fit any more in...no matter how good the books are, lol.

Thats absolutely brilliant - well done you :happy72:
What are your plans for the site, are you getting a new domain name and having a revamp ?
I've just joined Amazon as an affiliate - it's another learning curve but hopefully will get there ! :D

:thanks: Thanks :blusingan It is great to feel all your efforts are getting you somewhere.
Usborne have introduced a load of new copyright legislation and basically you can't mention usborne or have any book covers on a webiste anymore, they have started to produce templated websites. So buy there's or don't have one
They've given us a grace period up til end of april. So i've bought a new domain name : childrensbooks4u.co.uk and will switch future stationary over to that. When the time comes i guess i'll have to buy one of their sites - although at £42 and no choice of template - everyones is the same! I think its a complete rip off!
Anyway onwards and upwards.

Well done on making Team Leader.
Re: Websites, I think thats terrible because lets face it you need to be able to see the book covers - just titles would put me off! Seems another way for them to recoup money to me.

What about the fact anyone can buy an Usborne book from amazon or anyother number of book stores and see the front cover + take a look at sample page inside .. do they intend to get everyone to withdraw their images ??
Can see their sales suffering badly from this silly decision !

I don't get the cover thing, if you don't mention usbourn and are just selling books then how can anyone put two and two together where you get them from? You could be selling for amazon or have your own stock of books?
I think it's very unfair of Usborn to do that but well done on reaching team leader :)

Exactly - I'm not sure what Usborne Books at Home are playing at really - surely it's in their interest for the organisers to sell the books? I've stopped doing Usborne Books at Home and am now a direct stockist from Usborne the publishers - made my life so much easier as they were much less fussy!

Using Usborne trademark and copyright properties
As an Organiser, you will of course want to use our valuable copyright material whenever you can to promote your Usborne business. Here are guidelines to help you to do so.
1. Extensive Usborne copyright material is available for your use either as a stationery item or as a download on the Organiser section of www.usbornebooksathome.co.uk.
2. Extensive copyright material, including covers and spreads from the full Usborne catalogue is available for you to use online on your Usborne Templated Website.
3. The following words are legally registered Trade Marks of Usborne Publishing Ltd: “Usborneâ€, “Usborne Books at Homeâ€.
You cannot therefore use any phrase containing the word “Usborne†as your own trademark or copyright business name.
The balloon logo as used by Usborne is also a legally registered Trade Mark of Usborne Publishing.
Ownership of copyright by Usborne Publishing Ltd includes the following properties:
All covers and content of Usborne books and associated products such as jigsaws.
All original characters and artwork used in Usborne books such as the Yellow Duck.
As an Usborne Organiser, you may use copyright material available under points 1-3 of this section of the Handbook as detailed, without permission, at events such as fêtes and book fairs, except for a small number of large national trade events, for example, the Education Show, which do require prior consent. A list of these exceptional national events is available on request, or can be seen on the Organiser section of www.usbornebooksathome.co.uk.
No trademarks or copyright material may be tampered with, reproduced in another form or transferred or adapted without our knowledge or only in exceptional circumstances with our express prior written permission.
None of this material may be used in any other situation, including websites, their metatags, or search engine banners or links to non-templated websites.
In addition, any website connected in any way with the sale of Usborne books or the recruitment of Usborne Organisers must carry the following disclaimer in a position where it may be reasonably seen before a visitor contacts you:
Usborne Publishing Ltd and Usborne Books at Home have no connection with these pages and do not sponsor or support their content.
Such websites should immediately make it clear to all visitors that they are not visiting one of Usborne’s corporate websites.
As Organsier Agreements are available to download from our site and also on Templated Websites, we will no longer permit Organisers to make Agreements available on their own, non-templated sites.
None of this material can be used on any literature, advertising, website or at anyevent that promotes any other product or service.
Important note:
As a publisher, copyright and the Usborne trademark is a very valuable part of our business. Usborne Publishing takes any breach extremely seriously and will, without fail, request compliance, and in the case of failure to implement that compliance, enforce copyright law wherever necessary.
Its frustrating really as everything else is going so well:hissyfit: Trying not to let it bother me and atleast i have til may to 'change over' I have to change my domain name (on all my stationary and everything :ac39: ) but have bought www.childrensbooks4u.co.uk so i can start swapping over now and it shouldn't be too bad.

Hi elaine,
did you ever go to any of the events? Thinking about going to the gala and awards do in january but its 2 days and a night away from girls, so not sure whether it would be worth it. I should be able to get there for free if i keep doing well :crossfing And dh has said i can go, so thinking it should be a girly laugh in a posh hotel. Just can't imagine being away for 2 whole days!

I contacted Usborne at home for my site and was told I needed to buy pack of books. I told them there was no way I was paying for the priviledge of selling their books while I was getting good discounts from other places.
Well done on becoming Team leader Gem.
