I wonder if the effort is worth it? I think I will burn out if I carry on. I've not even been here all day until now and this is my favourite home! :woot:
Who can suggest a way to get shedloads of work done, still go to bed before 11 and earn more money?

if you get time build yourself a remote control and then you can pause real life and have as much time as you like

I think you need to start being strict with yourself and set yourself work time and no work time - and no work time means no tweaking or doing 'a little bit' when someone pesky like me pops up...
Love Elaine
p.s. did you get my email the other day? :D

You need staff! Hire a VA to do all the little jobs and even consider taking on someone to do some of the web site work!

Love Elaine

I think you need a day off, just turn off the pc and put your feet up
It doesn't get any easier either Daffs. As time goes on I get more working time because the children go to school etc and I just get more work to fill that time.
Just make sure you're charging enough for your time is worth so you're not working for peanuts. Then have a day off and go shopping.
And just think how much nicer it is running your own business than working for someone else.

Oh yes this is what I am finding Karen. Lexie is in preschool from 11.30 to 3 every day now, so I think "yay, time for more work", except I seem to think I can fit a whole day into those few hours, which is not happening. I have upped prices and thank goodness it seems to have gone down well. If it hadn't I would have had a bit of breathing space I suppose, but can't moan. I do love what I do, even if I get a bit bogged down at times.
You are definitely right about the running your own business bit. I'm not sure if I would rather work for someone else though sometimes. Got any jobs going? :happy72:

Stop being so nice and helpful and go shopping! Or come over to me and help me make some jewellery whilst watching the sexy Jeremy Kyle (oh so classy!).
Seriously, maybe you should have the weekends off. Then they are something to look forward to. I know it is hard as I am the same!
Catch up soon

Hi Hun,
I know this is a topic we've chatted about a lot because we're both far too nice.
I agree with the others - don't work on weekends. If your client's cannot understand that you are a mother and a wife and need some downtime, then they are just being stupid. No human being can work 7 days a week constantly.
Try to set smaller goals - don't try to get everything done in one day - say that you want to get job A done and focus on that, then move onto Job B, etc etc.
I know getting a white board and writing on it what I need to do and what I'm waiting for from a client has really really helped me. It keeps me focused.
I'm not sure what else to advise hun - I'm as naughty/as guilty as you are in working 24/7 and pushing myself too hard.
*HUGS*

Definately take weekends off!
Compare your prices to others again as well, I still think you're underselling yourself, your designs are beautiful and your tech skill setting up OS-Commerce etc. are worth paying for as well!
If you have too much work on, then set longer targets for completetion, I'm sure customers will understand.

Weekends off :cheesy: that's my best time to get stuff done. I'm right there with you Daffs, I've been saying time and time again I'd get DH to go away with the kids for the day and take time out. Trouble is when he does I think oo no kids perfect chance to get this and that and the other done.
That said don't burn yourself out hon, know your limits and learn to say no ((((((((hugs)))))))))).
And as for you Arianna - you giving advice on how not to work too much :fryingpan:
