Hi everyone, i recently got into making my own cards and have found that it is addictive, I now have so many cards for all occassions that i do not know what to do with them. I was wondering wether to sell some somehow but do not know how to go about it. Any ideas anyone? Carolyn

sel them to friends, sell them as packs on Ebay, local craft fairs, church fairs, etc

see if your local hairdressers or florists will put them on display for you

it's just like Ebay but without all the listing charges

that would be why i can't find how much it is to list on it then. Do you still have a fee to pay if an item sells? I think that i will look into using it to find some homes for some of my cards as a start. I have sold things on ebay before but by the time you have paid all their fees i am not sure it would be worth it> Thank you Carolyn

No fees whatsoever! You just list the item and the postage charge and payment methods. Have a go! I will be addng tons over the weekend (not cards though).

A friend of mine sell's hers at the local post office. Sells about 20 a week for £1.75

50p for the post office, £1.25 for her

All see bought was a card rotating stand, she goes on a friday and counts how many cards are there (keeps 100 on the stand on restock) if theres 80 the post office give her 20x£1.25

Oh - your cards are lovely! I will definitely be getting some for birthdays when they come up. Good luck - I know you are having a hard time at the moment and I know everyone on Mumszone will support you x x

That is such a great idea, maybe I should try that!

I'm also thinking of starting card making. I don't know of anyone in my area who does it and I think there may be a niche in the market here. I am slightlyworried though that it is going to cost a lot of money that I won't make back. I have a friend who makes cards and she has spent an absolute fortune. She has orders and I know she was making Christmas card orders back in the summer.

What I am thinking is that I could start off making cards for friends and family and hopefully word will spread and people will want to buy personalised cards.

What do you think?

go for it, i started by making xmas cards to give to my work colleagues, now I make them for friends, but I'm not in it to make money, it's a hobby I love, keeps me busy and creative

I make cards too, it is very addictive and an expensive hobby, you want to buy this gadget and those lovely papers, new die cutters and sparkling ep's, very fun though and therapeutic.

I make my own cards and my sister sells them for me at her work i sent 60 in with her before xmas and sold 38,with people asking me if I made xmas cards too.I have had a few people who ask for cards to be made to suit a person in mind so they are personalised, and have already started xmas cards for this year!!! I do it as I find it relaxing it can be expensive if you let it be!!!

I am going to need an extension built soon as I have tons of stuff scattered everywhere!:smiley-fa
